The best player of the 2023 season selected by professional baseball players was Noh Si-hwan (Hanwha Eagles, 22), who won two home runs and RBIs.
The Real Glove Awards select winners for each category by voting for more than 700 Korean professional baseball players belonging to the Korea Professional Baseball Players Association. It is the only domestic awards ceremony where the winners are selected through the votes of the players.
The final candidates included Noh Si-hwan, Ko Young-pyo (kt wiz), Kim Hye-sung (Kium Heroes), Yang Eui-ji (Doosan Bears), and Hong Chang-ki (LG Twins). They are among the top five players in this year's professional baseball regular season WAR (contributing to victory over alternatives).
Noh Si-hwan has played amazingly this season. He posted 31 homers, 101 RBIs and a WAR of 6.83 in 131 games. He hit .298.
In particular, he achieved 30 home runs and 100 RBIs at the second youngest age ever after Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop. Home runs and RBIs ranked first in the league and second with a slugging percentage of 541.
Noh Si-hwan lifted the trophy, saying, "Thank you for giving me an undeserved award." He continued, "I think you gave me this award to do better next year. "I will try to achieve better results with a humble attitude next season," he said.
Winners for each position were also selected based on defensive indicators. Starting pitcher Ko Young-pyo, reliever Park Young-hyun (kt), catcher Park Dong-won (LG), first baseman Yang Seok-hwan (Doosan), second baseman Kim Hye-sung, third baseman Huh Kyung-min (Doosan), shortstop Kim Joo-won (NC Dinos), outfielder Park Hae-min, Hong Chang-ki (LG), and Jung Soo-bin (Doosan) were honored.
