Season Two Premiere. Xiao Zhen tries to juggle affairs at the temple and in the psychic business, while coming to terms with the loss of the love of her life, Ah Le. Now drama club president, she works to recruit more students to the club before the school closes it down. Later, Teacher Kim's long-lost brother returns and sets up a rival temple.
The drama club gets two new members: Zhang Yu Xuan, who seems to have taken a liking to Xiao Zhen, and Zhan Xiao Tong, a freshman who comes up with a new solution to help recruit even more students. At the temple, a grieving son seeks out Xiao Zhen after his father dies. Teacher Kim foolishly places a bet with his brother that could cost him his temple.
Xiao Zhen wonders whether she's ready to move on as she and Yu Xuan grow closer. When an elderly couple brings their possessed son to the temple, Xiao Zhen discovers it may not be spirits disrupting his life. The drama club secures the perfect location for their film, but things quickly take a creepy turn.
As the drama club works furiously on their masterpiece, Xiao Zhen finds herself distracted by Yu Xuan and leaves Xiao Tong to pick up the slack. In a bid to win his bet with his estranged brother, Teacher Kim increases the number of consultations for Xiao Zhen, who learns there's a lot she doesn't know about the spirit world.
A woman who comes to the temple seeking closure throws Xiao Zhen for a loop with her revelations. With Xiao Zhen and Yu Xuan's closeness obvious to their peers, despite their clumsy attempts to hide it, Xiao Tong stumbles upon a private moment between the two and quickly becomes the school's go-to girl for help.
When her mother returns home from abroad, Xiao Zhen must work with Teacher Kim to hide her work as a medium. Yu Xuan looks to Xiao Zhen for help with his heartbreaking family issues. Now the most popular girl in school, Xiao Tong starts working at Teacher Tang's temple.
A major fight between Teacher Kim and Xiao Zhen's mom causes Xiao Zhen to leave the temple and, later, an accident lands her in the hospital. With Xiao Tong's newfound skills bringing followers to Teacher Tang's temple, an opportunity arises that could propel Xiao Tong to fame. Teacher Kim notices something amiss about Yu Xuan and decides to investigate.
Season Two Finale. Xiao Zhen takes a much-needed break from her medium duties at Ji De Temple, but when someone close to her begs for help, the call proves difficult to resist.

This is a throwback to the staging and pacing of the 1930's theater series, and does it beautifully because they carefully avoid going for glitz, glamor, and flash to actually tell a story, to make deliberate misteps in telling it, and thus make it more honest than almost anything seen today. Season one is short, but sets up the story well, and season two's eight episodes cleanly and clearly resolve this story arc-- and leaves a return open. Well worth watching, eight out of ten, four out of five, and it really addresses the idea of a Teenage Psychic in a run down temple in Taipei, blending modern Taiwan with the old religions.

Extremely well made and entertaining. Lighthearted and funny yet able to delve into many deeper themes that are often hard to talk about, in a way that is powerfully and deeply moving. Offers a glimpse into the Taiwanese culture. Actors were really good and plot is wonderful. Both myself and my hard to please 16-year-old daughter adored it. Easy to binge watch.

This is great series. I came from Taiwan & this is very truthful to local culture. I subscribed HBO because of it, but where is 2nd season in US? It is already released in Asia!

Think Twilight meets The Good Doctor meet Romeo & Juliet. The characters will grow on you. The plot will surprise you. I watched all 6 episodes in sitting. Wonder what they will do with Season 2.
