The king's son followed the ball till nearly noon (королевский сын следовал за клубком почти до полудня), when it stopped at a lake (когда тот /клубок/ остановился у какого-то озера) not far from the giant's castle (неподалеку от замка великана). Then he hid behind a rock (тогда он спрятался за скалой; to hide /hid, hidden/ — прятаться, скрываться) at the water's edge, and waited (у кромки воды и /стал/ ждать: «и ждал»; edge — острие, лезвие; край, кромка).

At midday the three sisters came to the lake (в полдень три сестры пришли к озеру; to come /came, come/), and, leaving their clothes on the strand (и, оставив свои одеяния на берегу; to leave /left/ — покидать, уезжать; оставлять), went into the water (вошли в воду; to go /went, gone/). When all three were in the lake swimming (когда все трое в озере плавали: «были в озере плавающими») and playing with great pleasure and sport (и резвились с большим удовольствием и весельем; sport — забава, развлечение, игра, потеха), the king's son slipped out (королевский сын выскользнул украдкой /из-за скалы/) and took the clothes of the sister with the yellow lily (и забрал одежду сестры с желтой лилией; to take /took, taken/).
At midday the three sisters came to the lake, and, leaving their clothes on the strand, went into the water. When all three were in the lake swimming and playing with great pleasure and sport, the king's son slipped out and took the clothes of the sister with the yellow lily.
After they had bathed in the lake (после того, как они покупались в озере) to their hearts' content (сколько их душа желала: «до удовлетворения их сердец»), the three sisters came out (три сестры вышли на берег: «наружу»; to come /came, come/). When the two with the blue and the white lilies (когда двое /сестер/ с голубой и белой лилиями) saw their sister on the shore (увидели свою сестру на берегу; to see /saw, seen/) and her clothes gone (и /что/ ее одежда пропала; to go /went, gone/ — идти, ходить; исчезнуть, пропасть), they began to laugh (они начали смеяться; to begin /began, begun/) and make sport of her (и подшучивать над ней; sport — шутка, проделка, насмешка; to make sport of smb. — высмеивать кого-л., потешаться над кем-л.).
After they had bathed in the lake to their hearts' content, the three sisters came out. When the two with the blue and the white lilies saw their sister on the shore and her clothes gone, they began to laugh and make sport of her.
Then, cowering and crouching down (тогда, съежившись и присев на корточки: «припав вниз»), she began to cry and lament (она начала плакать и причитать; to cry — кричать, орать; плакать), saying (приговаривая), "How can I go home now (как же я могу пойти домой сейчас), with my own sisters laughing at me (когда мои родные сестры смеются надо мной; own — свой собственный, принадлежащий /кому-л. или чему-л./; собственный, родной)? If I stir from this (если я сдвинусь с этого /места/; to stir — шевелиться, двигаться), everybody will see me (каждый увидит меня = все увидят меня) and make sport of me (и будут насмехаться надо мной)."
Then, cowering and crouching down, she began to cry and lament, saying, "How can I go home now, with my own sisters laughing at me? If I stir from this, everybody will see me and make sport of me."
