The Calendar

The Shoreditch community events calendar -- the specific combination of the community-organised events that the neighbourhood associations, the cultural organisations, and the informal community groups produce alongside the commercially organised events -- is the accountability journalism of what the community is doing together and for itself.

The organisers: the Spitalfields Festival that the music charity has been running since 1976; the Shoreditch Platform that the arts collective has been running for eight years; and the specific street events that the Hackney Council events programme produces.
