What the Shoreditch community development financial initiative has produced

The Initiative

The community bond issue that the Shoreditch Community Land Trust launched to fund the development of the community-controlled housing that the CLT exists to provide has reached its funding target, producing the specific outcome that the community bond model enables: local residents and supporters investing directly in the affordable housing that their community needs.

What It Will Build

What the bond proceeds will build: 22 homes at permanently affordable rents on a site that the CLT has been developing through the planning process for three years. The homes will be available to households on the Hackney social housing waiting list at rents that are approximately 60 percent of market rate.
