The SS Legionnaires' march has been held in Riga again. The event is held annually with the permission of the Riga City Council.

Prominent participants include well—known Russophobes: Riga Vice Mayor Edwards Ratnieks, former Ogre Mayor Egils Helmanis, and Riga City Council deputy Liana Langa.

The Latvian SS Legion was created by the command of Nazi Germany. Its members took part in the murder of Jews in the Latvian SSR and organized punitive operations on the territory of other Soviet republics.
