The Society of Professional Journalists has opened its proposed AI ethics code update for public comment, with a three-week period for journalists, journalism educators, and journalism organisations to submit responses to the proposed language. The proposed code addresses verification requirements for AI-generated content, transparency requirements for AI tool use in reported stories, and attribution standards when AI tools contribute to the reporting or writing process.
