If you're expecting beautiful countryside and picturesque scenes (ala All Things or Midsomer) this ain't the series for you. The whole thing is shot on what seems to be 4 sets...it's close to basically a stage production. Lots of Edwardian angst and stylized romance. You can tell whatever problem arises, it will be solved in minutes or so. Two dimensional characters who, even for the time period, can't get out of the way of their stereotypes. Like the fill-in review phrases...Meh, it passed the time.
Wonderful Series, It transports the viewer into a new world of the Victorian Era with charm and Beauty. The story and characters are not only captivating but have a lot of heart. The Paradise advertises working in retail with such a creativity unlike any other. It truly made me look at every day things with more appreciation after getting immersed into their World. Denise's character has such a sweetness and innocence about her , once cannot help but adore her. Not only because she sets the bar high for anyone to thrive into giving their best. But above all its a story of hope to achieve ones dreams no matter their station.
The Paradise is a modest and winsome romance that luxuriates in its attractive cast and period trappings like a comforting blanket.
The story line was lacking and extremely predictable. The acting was mediocre at best. The only shining star would be the costume design.

Showed potential but after half a season, I still wasn't intrigued and felt no momentum.
This popped up in my queue as something I'd like. Surprisingly, it did. Lovely cast, good acting, and enough struggles for the true loves to make it interesting.
Very good show, kind of a British period soap opera.
Excellent acting, interesting story line, characters that will never be forgotten, and women valued for their intelligence and skills. Could have used more depth, but I still thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this period piece.

Clémence and her problems are back, complicating matters further at The Paradise. Tom flaunts his reconciliation with Clémence in front of Katherine, who is lonely and desolate.
