The Next Big Thing In Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair
The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
A robot vacuum/mop combo is the best solution for pets that shed fur. It can mop and vacuum, and even clean and dry its own mop pads.
It also has 8,000Pa suction, which is the most of any robot we've evaluated. It also allows you to organize cleaning schedules and save your house's maps from its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet-dry model is equipped with Ecovacs' new AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.
It also features a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it much easier to scrub difficult areas more effectively unlike traditional mops. In my tests, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to clean its pad before getting to work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than previous models that seemed to follow a gridded path around rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms, and also create "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dust bin and clean the mop with hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.
The X2 Omni is just as easy to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Simply snap the dock into place, plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It takes just some minutes. Then, you can launch the app and get started with your first task of cleaning. I was able to dive into the settings and personalize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, including creating specific areas for sweeping and mopping as well as reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and so on. The X2 Omni was astonished during my tests, scoring excellent scores in the removal of pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is a powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced model of the T-line of the brand and comes with a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It comes with YIKO, an artificial language processing technology that is a first of its kind. It can respond to various voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you plan your home, make cleaning schedules and adjust settings.
The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch from mopping to vacuuming in a single run. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum according to your needs. This is fine for most households, but not for those who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the dust we tossed at it our hardwood floors which is an impressive performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles and removed 99% of dirt.
This robotic mop and vacuum comes with a large docking station which offers cool water cleaning for the mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L bag that's simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.
Like many other mopping robots such as the Deebot T10, this one features a wash tray in its base, which rinses and dries the mop pads as it uses them. It does not have a removable tray so dust, dirt and other grime will gradually build up in the bottom.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It has enhanced intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the surface you are cleaning. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's attractive, even if its claim of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning doesn't come true.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with sweeping wheels, and a raised sensor area. However, flip it over, and you'll find an electric floor brush and a single side sweeper that carries dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a little smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.
Its mapping system allows you to set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of hitting objects such as its charging station, and isn't the best at climbing over carpets. It was good at collecting pet hair off carpets. In our tests, it picked up 89.5% kitty litter.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has physical buttons at its base. These buttons allow you to select a cleaning mode or turn the robot off/on. You can also use these to set no-go zones and see real-time maps. It's a little chatty, and will tell you what it's planning to do next ("start cleaning") or even warn you that something's not right (it doesn't have enough power to charge, for instance).
4. ILIFE A4s
This model of high-tech vacuum is able to pick up pet hair, kibble, and other debris with great effectiveness. It also moves effortlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It's Wi-Fi enabled and best controlled via the Neato app, where cleanings can be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements be monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes that have a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting caught by power cables, toys, or other unexpected obstructions.
This robot did well in our tests on hardwood floors and food particles. It picked up everything from one rice grain to multiple dog food pieces with only one sweep. It had some difficulty transitioning to carpets, but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have both types of flooring and a mix of pets.
It's a bit expensive but if you're able to manage the price, it's a great purchase for those who want to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto-cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to tackle tough spills and dirt and includes batteries that power the ElectroWall which allows you to place boundaries where the robot is not allowed to access.
This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested, and provides an outstanding value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it's not equipped to map rooms. This is why it's less effective than other models in this list. It's still able get under furniture and into the corners. Mopping best robot vacuum for pet hair self-emptying performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ isn't quite as sturdy as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning low-pile carpet and bare floors. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater mobility. It can be sent to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It also lets you pause and resume a cleaning session, so it's perfect for homes with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent knots and holds up to 30 days of dirt. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, dander and allergens.
This vacuum feels solid and well-built. It comes with an app for smartphones that enables you to change its vacuum settings and schedule cleaning times in advance. The app lets you view the iQ's remaining battery life and also receive notifications via push for any issues it encounters during a cleaning process. You can utilize your voice to control the device using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device, and if you do not have either of these, you can mark off areas with physical boundary marker strips.
The iQ can do a decent job of removing bare flooring and doing a good job with shaggy and low-pile carpet, but it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and its recurring cost can add up.
