The completion of a safety course for motorcycles usually will eliminate the need to pass a driver's license test. The course will help you to anticipate other drivers' moves and keep a safe distance behind them and safely ride to your level.

The training includes both instructor-led classroom sessions and hands-on riding time. Arrive on time. Late arrivals may disrupt the schedule of the class.
Classroom Instruction
The MSF Basic Rider Course is the perfect course for anyone looking to learn how to ride a motorbike or scooter. The class includes classroom instruction and actual motorcycle/scooter operation training in an off-street controlled setting. The BRC is geared towards beginner riders and will help you avoid MVC's road test. It also teaches you street strategies such as maximum braking effectiveness, maneuvering in tight situations such as lane changes, passing and avoiding hazards.
The five-hour ePackage 1 (eP1) course can be taken as a stand-alone program or as a prerequisite to the hands-on part of the complete BRC. The eCourse contains interactive lessons, video clips and graphics that allow you to learn the fundamentals of motorcycling. You may qualify for insurance discounts if successfully complete the course.
The ePackage 1 must be completed within 30 days from the beginning date of your BRC course in order to receive an award and take part in the evaluation of riding skills. There will be no refunds in the event that the eCourse hasn't been completed. To participate in the hands-on BRC participants must have an VALID driver's license.
The CLASS program is a 2-day rider training class that allows you to further improve your riding skills in a safe and secure riding environment on a street-legal scooter or motorcycle supplied by the school. This class is taught by MSF Certified Instructors. The focus is on building your confidence, skills, and understanding of the operating systems. The class includes classroom instruction as well as riding exercises, and a ride-skills assessment.
The course is based on the teachings of Reg Pridmore, three-time AMA Superbike Champion and his carefully selected team of instructors. Their philosophies have been honed through 50 years of riding, racing and teaching. These concepts are presented in an easy way to make them easy to comprehend and apply. The result is a better rider who is more confident, competent and more secure.
Practice Range
You'll spend a significant portion of your training on a practice area that allows you to test and refine your riding skills. The range is usually closed to traffic so you can practice in a safe environment. Your RiderCoach will walk you through the fundamental techniques and controls of your bike before taking you out on the range. Your instructor will assess your abilities at the end of each session at the range. These are exercises that require limited space maneuvers and brakes. If you pass the riding-skills test, you'll be awarded an BRC Road Test Waiver Completion Card.
You should bring your motorcycle safety equipment to class. Your RiderCoach can provide helmets to students who don't already have one. But be sure to wear a DOT approved helmet. Also, wear long pants that are non-flare material, full fingered gloves, boots that go over the ankle or shoes and eye protection.
You will spend approximately five hours in a class learning about your bike before you ride it on the range. After that, your instructor will help you develop your riding skills by guiding you through straight-line riding as well as turning and shifting, and gradually progressing to more complex maneuvers, like emergency brakes and swerving. The course will conclude with a final assessment of your riding skills, after which you'll receive an award of completion and may be eligible for a motorcycle insurance discount.
In several states, a motorcycle safety class is required in order to get a license. Visit your local DMV to determine if the course is mandatory or recommended. Also, ensure that you are enrolled in a Motorcycle Safety Foundation-approved course, which can often be used as an exemption to the road test by the DMV.
The MSF Basic RiderCourse can be taken in a variety places across the country. The course is comprised of approximately 5 hours of classroom training with 10 hours of riding a bike. It is the most efficient method to get the motorcycle license and may be a good way to get insurance discounts.
Instructor Feedback
"The instructors were extremely professional and knowledgeable. They truly love their students and that is evident. zasady kategorii a1 will teach you the basics of riding a motorbike. This class is highly recommended for any motorcyclist, no matter what age or experience.
The instruction in the classroom was insightful and thought-provoking. The riding instruction consisted of both theory and practice, however the most memorable part was the feedback from the instructor. They didn't simply say "OK" however, they explained what you did wrong. For instance, "You looked down at the handlebars", "You gave it too many gas", "Your wrists are bent", "You shifted too early", or "You were not pushing down on your foot peg". Then they explained to you how to fix it.
This type of coaching is the kind of coaching you get in a quality training course and it is what separates this class from many other courses. Some riders might find this harsh, but I believe it is necessary to give students the best chance at passing the test and riding safely.
I've taken other courses in the past and there was no personal feedback from the instructor. There's no reason why instructors should decide the degree to which a student is able to pass an exam unless they're a clear threat or hindering others within the group.
In my opinion, any motorcycle school that doesn't provide personalized coaching is missing an essential aspect of its curriculum and doesn't deserve the high marks it gets in student reviews. The Basic RiderCourse and continuing with private lessons is the best way to get up and going quickly and safely. Learn from an experienced instructor, avoid bad habits and start riding with confidence and knowledge that you can use for the rest of your life. Graduates of the RiderCourse are exempt from the written and riding endorsement tests in the majority of states. Certain insurance companies offer discounts to those who have completed the course.
Final Exam
In the second part of the course you will learn road skills, including braking and acceleration shifting gears, turning and swerving. This part of the class is held until you are able to successfully pass a riding skills test. This portion of the class is what determines if you'll be granted a motorcycle license waiver card. The test will cover techniques that the DMV driver examiner will look for during your license test. It's fine if you don't pass the exam. Keep working hard and do your best to be able to pass the next time.
If you pass the exam the instructor will award you a certificate of course completion which can be used to get an insurance discount for motorcycles. You will be a licensed motorcyclist and can legally operate your bike on public roads.
