This fridge is a great choice, despite the small blip. It has a huge freezer compartment that is not common for counter-depth French door fridges. It also has a large capacity for frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.
Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a fridge with a French door at this price. It comes with a decent size freezer in the left side. But it's not the biggest one I've seen.
You can alter the shelves in both compartments to create customized storage arrangement for whatever you have to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting is a nice addition, and the in-door storage bins feature the third shelf, which folds up beneath itself to allow you to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, but I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit difficult on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere across the globe. It also has many options for customization. It also gives you notifications when a door is left open, when your fridge or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.
It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in a few other GE fridges that allow you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense simultaneously. The fridge shows a countdown to show you how much water remains however it's not as useful as Precise Fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless component of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher longer and has dual compressors for maximum preservation of food. The Ice maker is among the top we've tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in water consumption. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the line food preservation.
This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for various reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just a few degrees Fahrenheit and never moving by more than a fraction a degree--this is key to avoiding freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, achieving the temperature that was set for the initial setting within an hour and maintaining that temperature steady throughout the course of our testing.
Bosch is known for its high-end appliances, so it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. This app lets you monitor and control your fridge remotely from your tablet or smartphone. The fridge is a bit expensive, however it has great features and capabilities for the price.
While the fridge is an incredible appliance but it's important to be aware of the limitations. You might need to be creative with tall items because the fridge has a small shelf space. Also, the shelves are not completely sprillproof, and can easily be damaged or stained by sharp objects. It is easy to take out the refrigerator trays however, you must keep them clean to avoid the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great choice for those who need lots of space within a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features the standard French door design, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more room. There's also a full-width drawer for deli and an inside water dispenser.
The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it easy to move the ice when needed. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you better organize the position of your items. It has a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate one for ice.
Smart InstaView panel is another cool feature of the refrigerator. You can control the temperature, lighting, and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's a nice way to control and monitor your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.
The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the efficiency of the fridge. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than some others we tried. This is likely due to the greater capacity.
The doors are a different issue with this fridge. The handles that are sunken allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However, taller people still struggle to close them without slamming. It would have been better if these had front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent choice for those who want to combine the advantages of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little less than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, making it a great choice.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good choice when you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It has a simple design that's not as visually striking like some of the competitors however it comes with enough features to make it a solid option. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer that helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent Ice machine that is fast.
The "Chill Drawer", which is located over the two crisper bins, is another great feature. The drawer allows you to divert a portion of the fridge's cooling power directly to this area, which means you can put away food items that require special attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also use this feature to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge, however, I've found that changing the general settings tends be more effective than specific ones.
During my tests, I discovered that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a pretty good performance, but it doesn't quite rank among the best in our rankings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.
The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of removing streaks and fingerprints, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
