The 'Minecraft Earth' Beta is Set to Launch its Global Takeover This Month

It's been about two months since we first learned about Minecraft Earth, the augmented real-world version of the game that gives the real world playground filled with your own blocky creations. The company said that an alpha version of the game would be out this summer. Now, along with a new trailer for the game, the company says it will launch on iOS in the next two weeks. Servertracker.org Android will follow "soon afterward."

After witnessing live gameplay at WWDC last month, the release of iOS-first is not surprising. The trailer gives a lot more information about the game. However, it's worth taking a look at the Apple demo to check whether you have any questions.

To be one of the first players with access, you'll need sign up for the free game right here (you'll need a device running at minimum iOS 10 or Android 7 to participate, according to the FAQ). The game's accessibility is restricted because they are adjusting load to servers. However you must be logged in to remain in it. If you aren't playing for seven consecutive days, a different player will take your slot. You'll need an account with Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register and once you've registered, there's nothing else to do except wait, and get ready to build.

Are you thinking that life is good? It's about to turn into a BETA! Some areas will be getting the Minecraft Earth closed beta. Learn what to expect and sign up for your chance to play!
