The 'Minecraft Earth' Beta Begins its Global Takeover this Month

We haven't heard much about Minecraft Earth in a while. It's an augmented reality version Mojang's game that turns the real world into a playground full of your pixel-perfect creations. The company promised that a beta version of the game to be available in the summer of this year. Now it's here, along with a new trailer, the company claims it will launch on iOS within the next two weeks and Android following "soon thereafter."

After witnessing live gameplay at WWDC last month, the release of iOS-first shouldn't be too surprising. Although this trailer contains plenty of information about how you'll play the game, interested players may be interested in revisiting the Apple demo to get a better impressions of what it will be like to share a virtual Minecraft world with their friends that overlays the real world.

To be one of the first players to have access, you'll need to sign up for the free game right here (you'll need a device with at minimum iOS 10 or Android 7 to be able to play, according to the FAQ). Access is being limited as they build the load on the servers of the game, however you'll need to be active in the game. If you do not play for seven days, someone else will be able to claim your slot. You'll need an account on Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register after which once you've registered, there's nothing else to do except wait, and get ready to build.

i'm only good at one thing
