The Canals

The London canal network -- the Regent Canal that connects Paddington to Limehouse, the Grand Union Canal that brings it into the wider national waterway network -- is the London that exists at the pace of a slow walk, and whose character is the specific combination of the industrial heritage and the current residential and recreational use.

The Visitor Experience

The Regent Canal towpath from Paddington to King Cross passes through the Little Venice area, the Primrose Hill stretch, the Camden Market, the Islington tunnel portals, and the Hackney and Victoria Park stretch before reaching Limehouse. The specific distance is approximately 10 miles.
