The Little-Known Benefits Fridge Freezer Samsung

Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub fridge is the capacity of a 389-litre refrigerator and an 225-litre freezer. It's a large American model that comes with a high-quality temperature control system as well as a host of smart features.

It's customizable thanks to removable panels and you can create one that is perfectly matched to your collection of tie-dye Crocs and matte black Rick Owens clothing.

All-Round Cooling

In refrigerators that have All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits are used to keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, one Evaporator cools the freezer as well as refrigerator compartments. This means that the low humidity air from your freezer is circulated into your fridge and it can cause your foods to dry out. This can make them taste bland and unpleasant.

Each shelf level is equipped with multiple vents to circulate cool air. This helps to maintain an even temperature even when you shut and open the refrigerator door.

Optimal Fresh Zone keeps fish and meats fresher for as long as twice as long as in conventional fridges, and without freezing them. This feature is a game-changer for anyone who enjoys cooking but isn't a fan of freezing frozen meat or fish.

All Round Cooling uses an All Round Cooling cooling plate that is located at the back of the refrigerator in order to hold cold air and avoid the loss of it when you open the door. It also helps to reduce the requirement for power defrosting to save time and money.

The ice dispenser found on Samsung refrigerators is among the most efficient we've ever tested. The patented Twist Ice Maker dispensing large cubes is operated with one simple twist. It can be stored beneath the fridge when not being used. This creates more shelf space, and makes it easier to locate your favorite beverages and snacks.

You can choose which way your freezer and fridge are opened by using reversible Doors. This lets you easily integrate your fridge in the kitchen layout and keep your fridge neat and tidy.

samsung freezer is the central control for your SmartThings connected home with large touchscreens on your refrigerator. It will show a live video feed from your smart doorbell, order groceries using an automated inventory, or suggest recipes that make use of the items you have on hand.

Samsung refrigerators have drawers that flex at the bottom that are an efficient storage solution. They allow you to store taller items such as pizza trays, and cans of drinks. They can be flipped back when not in use, and folded flat to free up space. This is a great option for those who are passionate about cooking and baking, but have limited storage space in their refrigerators.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer features a unique three-zone system that lets you add an additional refrigerator compartment or freezer drawer to your setup. This flexibility lets you customize your fridge freezer to best meet your storage and needs requirements. It also allows you to upgrade to a larger or smaller fridge with the addition of a FlexZone module.

The stylish design of the refrigerator will fit in with any kitchen decor. The stainless-steel finish of the fridge is durable and elegant. Plus, it comes with anti-fingerprint coating to keep the surface of the appliance looking brand new. The refrigerator comes with an external water and ice dispenser to make it even more efficient.

This fridge has a FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted from freezer to refrigerator. This allows you to have more freezer space for items like ice cream bags of frozen vegetables and even fish or meat. It was a great performer in our tests, too however, the absence of a voice control feature and SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen was a missed opportunity.

The rest of the fridge is full of space to store food, including two crisper trays as well as a middle FlexZone drawer that can be customized. The latter lets you pick from five different settings for the fridge's freezer drawer, based on your needs. There is a freeze setting that matches the freezer settings as well as the soft freeze setting for wine or deli tray, a meat or fish setting and a beverage setting for drinks, snacks and other items that are frequently accessed.

This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is perfect for families who want to have a fridge and a freezer in one. It's smaller than high-end French door models, however it comes with a number of useful features and is a great alternative for those who have little space in their kitchens.

Samsung Fridge Freezers are also very energy efficient due to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge so that it doesn't fluctuate too much, and helps keep your food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it the ENERGY STAR Certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings isn't quite the same platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are however it does offer a lot of smart devices you can add. It's also integrated into Samsung smartphones, tablets and TVs - and some refrigerators. It may be enough for some especially if they own several Samsung products.

The SmartThings application is very polished and well rounded, with a 'if x then y' automation section that performs surprisingly well. It is possible to set up things like an alarm that goes off when water sensors detect flooding or turning on the light when your phone senses that you're in your home. It can also control your refrigerator, if you connect it to a smart plug, although we've seen mixed results with that.

SmartThings requires a hub, which is not cheap. Samsung offers a variety of ones - including the SmartThings Station, which you can attach to your router, and can be used as a nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings Hub Dongle that can support Z-Wave and Zigbee, with Thread support to be added soon.

Once you've got your smart fridge connected to your smartphone, hub and fridge it's a breeze to use. SmartThings lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your phone when the refrigerator is opened or closed. You can create schedules, alter the temperature and set reminders.

SmartThings was one of the founding members of the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working to make major home appliances from different manufacturers compatible. In the near future you could control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV through the same app.

Although it's not as widely accepted as Alexa or Google Assistant, SmartThings does have some major players on its roster, including Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx. It's compatible with the Matter protocol, which allows accessories to be connected regardless of brand. The best option for most people is to combine Alexa and Google Assistant.

Family Hub

This refrigerator freezer is the most modern one you can find. It has a 21-inch touchscreen integrated into the door, and comes with a variety of smart features. You can access entertainment apps, make notes for family members (think big digital version of a notepad stuck to the fridge), check the weather and more, all thanks Samsung's own voice activation assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen lets you manage your food and recipes. You can add ingredients directly through an app and see the contents of your fridge with internal cameras. You can also make an inventory list of items on the go and monitor foods to know when they'll expire. You can also use an app for recipes to read out the instructions while you cook.

Samsung has spent a whole year working on the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. One of the major changes is that you can now set different profiles for every member of your household so they can tailor the information and apps they can access. It's still not quite as great as having Alexa integration built into your refrigerator however it's a step up on last year's model.

Besides its entertainment and grocery management capabilities, Family Hub also acts as a controller for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be used to control Matter-compatible devices, such as lights and plugs as well as locks.

Samsung's fridge has been around for a few years now and, although it offers a fair bit of features, the touchscreens aren't a must-have feature for most people. These are more of a fun, semi-frivolous accessory than anything else.

This may change when there are more software updates, but at present these models are ideal for those who want to have the most extensive connected refrigerator that is possible. If you're not among them, you can opt for a less expensive model that doesn't have the Family Hub to save some cash. It could be worth it for you in the event that you own a lot of smart home devices that must be controlled by the same device, or if you simply enjoy the idea of having a fridge with a giant touchscreen.
