The Latest Minecraft Snapshot Adds 'Wither Boss', Baked Potatoes and Invisibility Potions
The latest install-at-your-own-risk Minecraft update (snapshot "12w34a") is now available over at the official Mojang blog. After installation, a number of fundamental changes are made to way that maps and nether portals function. Additionally, you will receive new items and items to make with said items. This is probably the coolest thing you've seen.
The "Wither Boss" is a floating skeleton torso with three heads that shoots exploding skulls out of each head. Although it's not clear if the creature exists in the game, the files are still available and can be hacked in the event of death desires (as Sethbling demonstrated).
This update also includes carrots and potatoes, the former a reagent for baking potatoes and the latter a key ingredient in invisibility potions, of all things. The potion is sprayed to make you and any nearby mobs invisibly invisible, but will not alter your armor or any objects you are carrying. It would be foolish to splash a baked potato over your head.
