The Knightsbridge Oral History Project

I have begun a formal oral history project: eight interviews with Knightsbridge residents and former residents across different decades of the neighbourhood's history, whose accounts will collectively document the specific changes that the column has been noting in the written record. The first interview was conducted on Monday with a woman who has lived in the neighbourhood since 1971. Her account of the neighbourhood in the 1970s and 1980s is the kind of primary source that the written record does not contain because it is not the kind of thing that gets written down in official documents.
