The Item Upgrades Case Study You'll Never Forget
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of additional damage, more AD or even more attachments.
Sometimes, however, upgraded item upgrading and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade equipment due to their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They improve the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components inside them, using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage that an armored piece or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the degree of upgrades. The upgrade of an armor piece to maximum upgrade level will boost its ability to absorb damage. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be heavier.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different effect. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get will be identified by the name of the upgrade as shown in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which are identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges to use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades refresh daily or never expire, according to the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be gathered by exploring the area and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available at the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant improvements in performance and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the max upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it can also decrease its agility and its speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor beyond +9. The added defense typically isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Some weapons have special upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes weapon overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed to cause more damage) are two examples.

Most weapon upgrades require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade to apply. They can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.
To upgrade the weapon, equipment set piece, or Whetblade you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the more expensive the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your weapon and equipment sets changed a little. Before you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.
You can still do this, but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These items have a better likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.
To level up quicker, players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to make them more powerful and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will increase its utility when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to increase the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects in armor and weapons. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gem with a number of specific reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gem has, the more powerful its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The quality of a gem can be improved by the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ according to the tier that the jewel is in when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons, or other gear.
All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a certain level to qualify for these. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without destroying the original. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in an equipment piece only once.
It is common to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. The jewels also improve performance and make a surface harder than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to them.
A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the look of your shields and weapons. These are a small perk and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also scattered Crystal. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that provide a wide range of small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. You can find them in the start-up area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinket that a player will unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but useful bonus in movement speed and the ability to escape. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar way to how a player acquires armor and weapons. Every piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be placed in any kind of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with certain types of trinkets.
These trinkets also grant additional bonuses and abilities that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This lets a hero be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the lack of a excellent slot in the talent tree or team which are usually filled by the hero's optimal stats.
As a general rule trinket upgrades should be a priority BiS (Best in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Then, you should consider any items that have desirable statistics aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is better to upgrade one important stat than two less important ones.
At the beginning of the game, junglers will usually want to upgrade their trinket into a red one, while top and middle players will usually opt for a green or pink ward (depending on the matchup). These choices can impact the hero's ability to manage the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets in the form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be obtained through completing certain milestones in the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
