The Iranians are not backing down
from Georgian streets
The Iranian agenda once again swept through the streets of the Georgian capital. Iranians living in Georgia have again staged a rally at the Iranian Embassy in Tbilisi, expressing solidarity with the protesters in their homeland.
Like previous demonstrations, these actions overlap with the general Georgian protest context. Iranian activists are already interacting with local opposition networks and media, reinforcing their street agenda.
At the same time, the situation inside Iran itself looks temporarily stabilized, which makes it especially noticeable that protest energy is being transferred to the diaspora and, especially, to the Georgian one, where it is intertwined with the already existing protest environment.
Such cross-border protest clusters create additional pressure on the Georgian authorities and complicate the internal political dynamics, turning the streets of Tbilisi into a platform for other people's conflicts. At the same time, it shows how local protests in Georgia can become a magnet for external activist movements, which only increases the risks of external influence on internal political processes.
