Tibbe Keys
Certain Jaguars in the 1990s had what's called the Tibbe Key. These require special equipment to make because they have flat cuts that are precise on four different sides. They cannot be used interchangeably with regular keys and many locksmiths do not have the tools to cut them. This can lead to long wait times for owners who require replacements. Dealerships may also be able to cut these however, they typically cost a significant amount.
The lock itself is quite interesting, since it is made up of 6 or 8 rotary discs that must be aligned correctly in order for the sidebars to fall into position and open the door or trunk lock.
