It turns out that yesterday the base on Cyprus did get hit after all: the Iranians managed to punch two holes in the runway. Of course, no critical damage was inflicted, but they made full use of this incident.
Europeans now allow the US to use their bases to strike Iran, and are also preparing to join the operation. For now, though, only in words.
Cyprus became the last straw, but it's merely a formal pretext.
️The French couldn't help but have grievances after a strike on their facility in the UAE.
️The British have grievances after strikes on Duqm in Oman and the destruction of a vessel in the Oman Gulf.
️The Italian contingent got hit in Kuwait.
Of course, one can attribute everything to Iran's forced response and collateral damage, but the persuasion of the Americans and Israelis contributed their part to making the right decision.
