In a primitive tribal world where strange, monstrous, animalistic machines roam the wilderness, a brave young female warrior goes on a quest to learn the truth about her mysterious origin and the state the world is in.
Before the game even launched we were already hearing rumors about Sony's hope that this would end up being a new fully fledged first party franchise and after finishing it, with 100% of everything you could do in the game, i can definitely see why! The game might not be perfect but the flaws are minor and there's just so much potential and personality in the game that it's hard not to imagine getting more content eventually, so many locations you only hear or read about, so many interesting facts about the past and future left to discover! And what a BEAUTIFUL GAME! Great characters, great combat(melee combat was a bit lacking though), amazingly interesting and smart storytelling... i just can't wait to get more of it.
**Spoilers Ahead** This is easily the best game released thus far for the PS4. Between the story, the gameplay, and the ability to explore the enormous open landscape, it's likely a winner for game of the year as well. I've always been attracted to games that provide a true story-line with twists and turns, just like a movie, and this sure does have lots of them. The beginning of the game starts you out as an outcast, so it's difficult to play, especially at the low level, and the tribe of the Nora are a bit annoying, but they are short lived. By the third or fourth hour of gameplay, you are out exploring the wide open world as a seeker. You have 1 (sometimes 2) main quests to follow, but literally dozens of side quests and errands to run, which can easily keep you busy for 80-100 hours of gameplay to complete the game to 100%. I'm at 80+ hours, completed the main quest, and side quests, and I'm only at 89%. The key point I find unique to this game are the characters. There are literally dozens of them, each with their own unique personality. They tie together very well, and you find yourself feeling emotions for some of these characters. This game also does something I have yet to ever see before done properly in a game, and that is have the characters convey actual facial expressions and emotions in their actions and cut scenes. I guess the only items I wish they changed was that you actually see EVERY single machine, including the one you fight in the final battle, pretty early on in the game. I wish they had saved some of the characters for later in the game and the final battle(s). By the time the final battle had come along, I had already beat all these characters like 50+ times each(sometimes way more), so the final battle was fairly easy, especially with the ancient armor. The Deathbringers are hard, but freeze them, take off their top guns, and they come down pretty quick. The birds are annoying, especially the Glinthawks. They're probably the hardest in the game because they don't stop moving. Also, why stop character progression level at 50? I hit level 50 pretty early in the game, and I could not level up anymore. Overall, this was an amazing game, and I can't wait for the sequel, or any DLC. Kinda surprised there was no DLC already. Looking forward to it, though.
