The refrigerator is brimming with them, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a clever water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Since this refrigerator costs more, I'd expect higher quality.
Other than that however, this refrigerator is a great choice. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Additionally, it holds a good amount of frozen food as compared to similar models.
The fridge comes with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on what you would expect from a French door refrigerator that costs this much. It has a decent-sized refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. However it's not the biggest one I've seen.
You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create custom storage setup for the items you need to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting is a nice touch, and the in-door storage bins have the third shelf, which folds down so that you can store items that are tall. The drawers include temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to shut and open, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere around the world. It also offers many options for customization. It also sends you notifications when the door is unlocked as well as when the fridge or freezer requires defrosting, and when the filter has to be changed.
It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a handful of other GE fridges that allow you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at a time. The fridge displays a countdown to display how much water remains but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features the standard French door layout, with two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. There's also a full-width deli drawer and an internal water dispenser.
One of the nice things about this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer frozen ice to the fridge to be used when it is required. The freezer also comes with clever design features, such as sliding drawers that allow you to organize your belongings. It also comes with a large bin that holds plenty of frozen food items as well as a separate storage bin for ice.
Smart InstaView panel is another cool feature of the refrigerator. You can manage the temperature, lighting, and more of your fridge from your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, especially when you're away from home.
The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't improve the performance of the fridge. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this refrigerator as compared to other fridges we test. This could be due to its greater capacity.
The doors are another problem with this fridge. The sunken handles allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will have a difficult time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better to have front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to blend the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with more efficient design. It has a capacity that is above average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a bit cheaper than the top counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, making it a great option.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a good option if you want a French-door fridge that won't break the budget. It has a simple design that isn't as visually striking as some of the competition but it does have enough features that make it a great pick. Its most significant feature, the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher longer. It also comes with a large ice maker as well as a water dispenser.
Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. The drawer lets you use a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power into this area, so it can be used to store food items that require special attention. You can alter this feature using a slider that's located right on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the generic settings work better than the specific ones.
During my experiments, I noticed that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different parts of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator didn't vary significantly from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite rank among the best in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be paired with a smart thermostat to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.
The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It wards off streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've seen.
