According to latest d evelopments regarding the Sharkeisha fight video that went viral, victim Shamichael Manuel suspects that she was set up by her former friend along with some other girls. The reason for the brutal beating that she took is (surprise, surprise) a boy, as reported in KHOU .
The November 19 attack, recorded on a cell phone, shows Manuel being punched in the face and kicked with relentless force.
"I was just in shock. I was like oh my God. Did she really do this? You're supposed to be my close friend," Manuel said.
Manuel, who post the beating is seen lying curled up on the ground in the video and says she never saw the attack coming.
"We were talking in school earlier that day. She made it seem like there was nothing wrong with her," explained Manuel.
Manuel was rescued and driven home after a neighbour came to her assistance. She has not been able to return to school as she's having trouble seeing out of her right eye. The nasty beat-down left her with a black eye and a busted lip.
"It is hurting and crushing to me," Manuel said. "I felt humiliated and embarrassed and hurt at the same time."
On Tuesday night around 10:30 EST, the video jumped from 12,000 to 20,000 "favorites" in a matter of minutes, which is when it was taken off Instagram. The popularity of the video seems to have added tremendously to Manuel's humiliation.
The girl seen punching and kicking in the graphic footage has turned into an internet sensation.
"The video's just going and going. They're making jokes, and they're taunting. They're glorifying the girl Sharkeysha, but they're taunting my daughter at the same time," said mother Olevia Henderson.
Olevida Henderson has been trying to report the video online, but she feels there's nothing she can do to stop it.
"I was in the grocery store, and the girl was checking out my groceries. The baggers were just laughing and talking about it. I said that's my daughter in that video, and their whole expression changed," added Henderson.
Henderson stated that in spite of her reporting the incident to the assistant principal at Cypress Creek High School, no action was taken as the attack didn't happen at school. But a report has been filed with the Harris County Sherriff's Office.

A video showing a girl named Sharkeisha beating another girl has gone viral on the internet, racking up thousands of views.
On Tuesday night around 10:30 EST, the video jumped from 12,000 to 20,000 "favorites" in a matter of minutes, which is when it was taken off Instagram.
In the video, which has been now banned from Instagram, you can hear Sharkeisha's shocked friend yelling at her, "Don't kick her, Sharkeisha!"
The video stayed on Instagram for nearly a full day, even though the site does not allow violence. Its terms of use state that users "may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content via the Service."
A Twitter user called The Queen Sharkeisha purporting to be the villain of the video is reveling in her new-found notoriety. The user tweeted on 27th November:
"IM TRENDING IN AFRICA!!!! I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THEY HAD INTERNET THERE I FEEL FAMOUS"
On November 26, Queen Sharkeisha (formerly Sharkeisha Boss Ass) had some 400 followers. By the evening of November 27 she had 25,000 and counting.
However unconfirmed reports suggest that the assailant has now been arrested, after her video came to the attention of the authorities.
The Queen Sharkeisha Twitter account tweeted several times about police closing in on her, knocking on her door and calling her house.
On 28th November, her tweets included: "wtf the police knocking on my door and s**t" and "OMG IM IN SOOOO MUCH TROUBLE"

The 17-year-old victimized by a girl named Sharkeisha in a video that went viral, says she had no idea the beating was coming.
Shamichael Manuel says she thought Sharkeisha was her friend, and that the 16-year-old showed no signs that something was wrong.
'We were talking in school and evertyhing and she made it seem like there was nothing wrong with her,' Shamichael told KHOU .

Shamichael was so oblivious, she didn't think twice when Sharkeisha and a group of girls invited her over to an apartment after school.
The video shows what happens next. Shamichel shows up outside the apartment clutching her backpack when she's sucker punched by Sharkeisha. Sharkeisha continues to hit and kick Shamichael before being held back by friends.

Shamichael says she never even saw the hit coming.
'I was just in shock. I was just like "Oh my god, like did she really do that?"' Shamichael said. 'You're supposed to be my close, close friend.'
Shamichael believes she was set up by Sharkeisha and the group of girls who wanted revenge over a boyfriend.
After the fight, Shamichael released pictures of her black eye and busted lip, but those injuries have since healed.

However, the terror of being attacked and in such a public way is a scar that's never going to fade.
'I'm going to have to deal with this for the rest of my life,' Shamichael said. 'How would you feel like if that was your daughter and your son and that happened to them?'
Shamichael's mother Olivia Henderson certainly knows the feeling.
Ms Henderson says the video glorifies Sharkeisha and taunts her daughter.

It's not clear whether charges have been pressed against the girl named Sharkeisha.
While Twitter and Facebook users originally identified the woman as 22-year-old Sharkeisha Tyeshia Thompson of North Carolina, Shamichael says the girl who attacked her was 16, attending school with her in Harris County, Texas.
