We cannot control Mother Nature and there were more than few "unwell" customers today. We were on the Highlander. Hull holds lots of vehicles. We had a nice spot near the front with a window for viewing. Seats were plenty comfy. Sunny day, but windy. As the crossing progressed the waves got larger. We were asked if we had to move around to do so with care and to use the railings. A woman came around to see if everyone was doing okay. We had a couple who were queasy, but with Bonine started to feel better. We had such good seats we did not move around much. There was a theater like area set up near the back of the ship. There was a cafeteria where they had many selections. ( We had brought out own food). they service alcohol - beer was just under $7 and they stop serving the last couple of hours before docking. When leaving we asked a crew about how rough it was on a scale of 1-10 and she said 4. I hope not to see anything higher. Pretty much everything you could need for a 6 hour crossing.
We took the ferry from North Syndey NS to Newfoundland (Argentia route). We stayed in a deluxe cabin which was FANTASTIC! We were on the 10th floor and felt very like VIP because there was only 6 of these cabins on the entire floor and not too many ppl came up to that floor to hang out so we kinda had the outside decks to ourselves as well and that was great. Complimentary drinks were included in the cabin which was great. The room was spacious. We had the buffet for supper that night and honestly for that price, the food was not worth it, very bland, roast beef was very dried. Service was great throughout the ferry, very friendly and helpful. We took the return ferry back from Port Aux Basque and we stayed in a 2 berth cabin. The ferry on this route is a different ferry than the one on Argentia. The cabin was very small and tight - not much movement inside the cabin. The bathroom was very small. We thought they would have a deluxe cabin like the other ferry, but unfortunately what we stayed in is all that this ferry had. The hallways stink - really bad like cigarette smokes and just filth. The viewing decks were terrible, not much space out there as well. The food was disgusting! If you are traveling to Newfoundland, just stick to the ferry on the Argentia route to and from. DO NOT take the ferry from Port Aux Basque - a big let down.
Very spacious and comfortable. Large reclining seats. Restaurant with 5ish main options and cafe including icecream and smoothies. Small outside deck for some fresh air, but very windy.
We took the Ferry from North Sydney to Argentia and the returned from port aux Basques to North Sydney. They recommend being there two hours in advance or you could loose your place, if you are in a vehicle. Make sure you take everything you need out of your vehicle as you will not be allowed to return to it until you are docked at your destination. If you are taking the longer route, North Sydney/Argentia, it is worth your while to book a cabin. Be aware they book up very fast and a month or more in advance. I would recomend the deluxe cabin for a small amount more. In our case only a 4 berth cabin was available. Take what is available then ask to be wait listed for the cabin you want. Two weeks before our trip we were bumped up to the 2 berth then 1 week before our trip we were bumped up to the deluxe which includes a queen size bed and private bath. The food onboard is fairly good but pricey. You also need to be aware that depending on which level your vehicle is loaded on it can take up to an hour to disembark. If you are on a tight schedule ask at the gate when you check in if they can assign you to a loading lane that will get you off quickly. Of course you need to arrive early to do this. The crew is friendly and efficient. Also suggest that you have your own headphones so that you can enjoy the onboard TVs.
Comfortable seating and plenty of it. Has food, TV, and internet computers (limited). Careful of sitting by a window as the sun may end up in your face and there are no blinds in general seating. USB for phones bit almost no outlets. Deck to get some sea air.
Took the Ferry from New Brunswick to Nova Scotia. The process to get onto the ferry was quick and efficient. Once inside the vessel, there are a couple of locations for food/drinks, comfy chairs with overhead televisions, cushioned seating areas, and an outdoor viewing deck with covered seating. The Ferry also had an intelligent local from one of their museums on board that gave 2 presentations. 1 was indoors about New Brunswick/Nova Scotia history and he offered artifacts for viewing. The 2nd was held outside on the viewing deck and was about the marine life that could be found in the Bay of Fundy; he provided photos, artifacts, and binoculars during that presentation.

Wild winds and huge waves battered Sydney's ferry service on Tuesday as a huge storm front tore through the Harbour City.
The normally calm and picturesque journey between Circular Quay and Manly turned into a terrifying white-knuckle ride for passengers.
Footage and pictures have emerged showing the iconic vessels tipping from side to side as they crash through rough seas.

The ferry from Sydney's Circular Quay to Manly is pictured battling through huge waves
The normally picturesque journey turned into a terrifying white-knuckle ride for passengers
Although a Facebook user who posted video of the rocky voyage described the journey home as 'fun', others were horrified.
'You're brave on a day like today!' one person wrote.
Another said: 'Blimey! Little bit rocky!'
Others couldn't believe the service was still operating with winds gusts of up to 100km/h recorded this morning.
'Those ferries are as tough as nails,' a Facebook user wrote.
'I am surprised it is running,' another said.
Pictured: Storm clouds gather over Sydney on Sunday as the city braced for wet and windy weather this week
The Bureau of Meteorology told residents to keep their cars away from trees as the city prepared for wind gusts of up to 90km/h (hail pictured falling in Sydney on July 12)
Eventually conditions became too dangerous and the ferry service was replaced with extra buses to the northern beaches.
The low pressure system brought five-metre swells and torrential rainfall to Sydney, the mid-north coast, the Hunter region, the Illawarra and the south coast of New South Wales.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the miserable weather is expected to stick around until Wednesday evening before the system moves eastwards over the Tasman Sea.
In Sydney, 20mm of rain is expected to fall before the end of Tuesday with a further 5mm set to come tomorrow.
The Bureau of Meteorology's Jane Golding warned New South Wales residents to be vigilant over the next 24 hours.
'It certainly will not be a good day to go out boating,' she warned.
'The landscape is still quite vulnerable at the moment because of the bushfires so do keep an eye out for falling trees and things like that.'
Gale Warnings remain in place for the Byron Coast, Coffs Coast, Macquarie Coast, Hunter Coast, Sydney Coast and Illawarra Coast.
Rough seas at Bronte Beach on Tuesday. Waves of up to five metres are forecast for Sydney as a ferocious east coast low pressure system lashes the Harbour City
Two walkers brave the heavy rain and windy conditions at Bondi on Tuesday morning
Queensland and Melbourne are expected to escape the ferocious east coast low but Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Adam Morgan said weather systems like these can be very unpredictable.
'As with all east coast lows pinpointing exactly which communities will see the worst of the weather depends on exactly where and how close to the coast, any low pressure centre forms,' he said.
'Winds may be strong enough to bring down trees and powerlines and beach conditions will be dangerous right along the coast.
'These are weather systems that can impact communities through flash flooding, damage to trees and property and through coastal erosion.'
