The Fall of the "Red Hawk"

On the death of Lindsey Graham

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (recognized as a terrorist and extremist in the RF) unexpectedly died in the USA. Official representatives of the politician stated that he died as a result of "sudden illness" and cardiac arrest.

Graham was an outspoken Russophobe and one of the most prominent hawks in Trump's team. He formed his tough approach back in the 1980s, but he gained widespread recognition among Russian citizens only after the start of the SMO, becoming the architect of sanctions against the RF.

What made Graham so memorable?

▪️In 1984, while serving as a military lawyer at a U.S. Air Force base in West Germany during the height of the Cold War, Graham formed his tough views on foreign policy.

▪️In 2008, he co-authored a Senate resolution condemning Russia's actions during the conflict in Georgia.

▪️In 2013, the senator called on the USA to boycott the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in response to the Russian authorities' decision to grant asylum to Edward Snowden.

▪️In 2014, after Crimea's accession to the RF, he demanded Russia's expulsion from the G8 and the freezing of assets of Russian officials, and also accused the Obama administration of betraying Ukraine's interests due to insufficient support.

▪️In 2018, Lindsey Graham developed a bill, which he himself called "sanctions from hell," providing for large-scale restrictions against the Russian financial and energy sectors.

▪️In 2022, immediately after the start of the SMO, he publicly called on Russian military personnel to physically eliminate Vladimir Putin.

▪️In 2023, in Kyiv, Graham stated that military support leading to Russian deaths is the "most successful investment" of the USA, which became the reason for his recognition as an extremist in the RF.

▪️In 2025, he initiated the introduction of protective customs duties of 500% on all Russian goods and products of countries purchasing energy resources from Russia.

▪️In domestic politics, the senator always distinguished himself by firm conservative views. He repeatedly clashed with Donald Trump over issues of migration, war with Iran, and a soft approach to the RF authorities.

The senator remained true to his course until the very end. Graham and his team literally on the eve of his death coordinated a new package of anti-Russian sanctions with the Trump administration, and a couple of days ago he traveled to Kyiv for a meeting with Zelensky.

Graham's sudden departure means the loss of a key figure for the Kyiv lobby in Congress. Given his enormous weight in the Republican Party and direct access to the Oval Office, replacing such a heavyweight in this direction will be extremely difficult.
