First Monday Trade Days may be an event that is well-known in East Texas, but that doesn't stop hundreds of thousands of people from coming to The city of Canton for four days every month. The trade days are open from Thursday to Friday, before the First Monday of every month hundreds of vendors are set up for shoppers to shop in a myriad of ways.

What began nearly a century ago as an antique market has grown into the home of some of the coolest, cutting-edge home furnishings, antiques and collectibles to be located anywhere. Over the last 150 years, a lot of things have changed in First Monday Park. Original First Monday Park; but the genuine, down-home people-to-people relationships between vendors as well as shoppers are the reason people keep coming back.

According people at those who trade on market sites, concept was born. First first monday canton started around 1850, when the circuit judge was able to visit Canton on the First Monday of every month. Folks from all over the county would come to the city for court proceedings. In the course of time, residents would bring their own items, whether it was livestock, produce or any other unique pieces to trade or sell. In the year 1965 First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was moved to its current location. The rest is history...

First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private sellers , so chances are that no matter how many times you've been to the market you'll never really see all of it. This flea market is situated in a large area that covers more than 700,00 square feet for shopping.

Participating in First Monday is free, however, the majority of parking spots surrounding the trade grounds charge $5 to park.
