The African Union has condemned the attacks in Niger.
The Chairman of the African Union (AU) Commission, Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, condemned the recent attacks in Niger, including the attack on Hamani Diori International Airport in Niamey. He highly appreciated the efficiency and effectiveness of the country's defense and security forces, which were able to contain serious threats.
The AU calls for increased equipment and training of ground troops, the development of regional cooperation, the exchange of intelligence and a targeted fight against the root causes of extremism.
