The Addis AI Forum Opportunity | OpenAI, ALX & Africa Fintech Summit

OpenAI, in partnership with ALX and the Africa Fintech Summit (AFTS), will convene a high-level Addis AI Forum in Addis Ababa on February 17, 2026, during African Union Summit Week. The forum will bring together policymakers, business leaders, technologists, start-ups, and educators to discuss Africa’s role in the global AI economy, with a focus on talent development, infrastructure, and long-term readiness for an AI-first decade.

Held at the ALX Capstone Tech Hub in Lideta, the forum will explore practical pathways for AI adoption, governance, and ecosystem building across African markets. Discussions will align with the African Union’s Continental Artificial Intelligence Strategy and will feature a keynote and fireside chat with OpenAI’s Africa Lead, alongside leaders from the tech, fintech, and education sectors. Both in-person and virtual participation options are available.
