Tester at London

Tester at London

About Bloom & Wild

We believe that you should be able to be there from anywhere with flowers for those you love. Easily order our British designs to send in seconds to be delivered next day through the letterbox.

It's flowers, delivered with love.

Our team of in-house floral designers create bouquets weekly, changing with styles and seasons to ensure that only the best flowers are sent out.

Our range is centred around innovative designs and products. From letterbox flowers to hand-tied bouquets, roses to mini pineapples, we go beyond our customers' wildest floral imaginations. We’re always sourcing creative blooms to delight our customers.

Our designs are inspired by popular culture, fashion and interiors. Each is crafted with the idea of an English country garden in mind - beautiful with a touch of wild and whimsy.

We source our flowers seasonally, responsibly and carefully. Each bloom we work with is quality tested for longevity and beauty, we don't settle for second best.

Position

We're looking for our first tester. Are you looking for the opportunity to come in and really make your mark, helping us to improve quality across the business? Are you the sort of person who asks “What If…?” Can you apply your initiative, expertise and experience to help improve testing and quality across our business?

In return you’ll get the opportunity to work on the industry leading website and iOS / Android apps, powered by a stack which includes Angular and Ruby on Rails. You’ll be joining a young, close-knit team and get the chance to help shape how we work, and inspire others, while using the latest tools and technologies. This is a unique opportunity to join the UK’s second fastest growing startup and take part in the next phase of our success.

Your qualification

You are an experienced exploratory tester, with previous experience of large scale web applications, who understands that testing is far more than just “checking it works”. You’ll be a champion of quality and understand how it can be improved at every stage of software development. We expect that you will take learning seriously, as well as sharing your knowledge and helping the whole company to understand what good quality is.

Being passionate about the product you’re helping to build will be as important to you as the testing that you lead. You’ll be eager to learn, fast-moving and pragmatic, favouring collaborative approaches that help make testing a team activity. Your testing approach will be exploratory and risk based, favouring the discovery and communication of information over the creation of test artifacts. You’ll understand that automation can be used for more than just checking, and you’ll consider automation a key part of a good test strategy.

We’ll expect you to have experience:

  • Testing within an Agile environment, adapting quickly to changing situations
  • Leading testing efforts, including test management, execution and reporting, across multiple concurrent projects
  • Helping define and rollout improvements to testing and quality processes across both a tech team and wider company
  • Working with developers to help them become better testers
  • Working as a key part of a technology team with developers and UX designers, as well as customer facing parts of the company such as Customer Delight and Marketing
  • Writing and maintaining web based test automation, and using common web debugging and monitoring tools

Will be a plus

  • Written and maintained test automation suites in Ruby or Javascript
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery
  • A background which includes testing native mobile applications and APIs as well as websites
  • A love of flowers

Working Environment

We’re hard-working with a relaxed culture, supportive of flexible working, with a strong and collaborative vibe. Everyone is very sociable, with regular company-wide lunches, drinks and Bloom & Go Wild trips. We use the best bits of agile with a real focus on learning, through retros, stand-ups, code reviews and plenty of chances to pair up and solve problems.

When you start you’ll be able choose whatever laptop you need to get the job done, a widescreen monitor to plug into, comfy chair and whatever other tools you need. Our lovely new office is light and spacious, conveniently located close to Vauxhall station. We retain an informal, startup environment, with employee-friendly policies such as 25 days holiday, company discount, personal development allowance and more.
