The official list below only shows reserved time periods and not confirmed exams. It is important to confirm with your teacher whether or not the final exam for the course will be scheduled during this time.

Before registering, make sure to review the Goethe exam guidelines and the terms and conditions on each individual exam page. Also, be sure to make sure you register at the correct exam level.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. Check out the individual exam pages for additional information on exam content, exam rules and conditions, and additional guidelines. Faculty may find their exam times by using the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. For evening classes final exams are scheduled at the normal class time during the exam week.

Registration

The exam schedule is accessible on the internet, and students are advised to review it. It is important to note that the schedule for exams may be altered at any time. For this reason, students should consult their instructors to ensure that they have the correct date and time for their test. Students should also make sure to print out the official list and bring it with them for their exams.

Students should also be familiar with the guidelines and terms of the exam, in addition to the exam schedule. They are available on the page for each exam. After registering, students acknowledge that they accept these terms and conditions.

Exam locations will do their best to accommodate students with special needs. The nature and extent of these needs should be noted on the registration and confirmed by a physician's attestation. The locations for the exam must be able to respect confidentiality and keep it.

If a student is scheduled to take three exams scheduled for the same day it is suggested to contact their department or instructor to schedule an exam to make up. It is possible to take three examinations on the same day. However, this could result in a lot of stress and can affect the quality of the exam. The instructor may not be able give an opportunity to take a makeup test on a different day.

Students should review their course material before taking the exam and practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test that tests the ability to read, speak and write in German. The results of the exam are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who succeed in passing the test are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the attainment of the language level A1. This level corresponds to the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students are required to bring a valid government ID to the examination. Anyone who does not have a valid photo ID will be disqualified from the examination.

Fees

You will have to pay an exam fee in order to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.

Practice tests allow you to get a feel for the style, wording, and difficulty of the questions on the test. They can help you evaluate your knowledge, spot gaps and increase your chances of passing the test.

Please note that the examination fee is not refundable. Exam results can only by electronically sent, not via phone.
