It all began in 1911, when Edmond Hurand, who already owned the Elysée-Montmartre, bought a brasserie and an adjoining plot of land of 1,000 m2 at the corner of Rue Caulaincourt and Rue Joseph de Maistre in the heart of Montmartre. A true visionary, he built a 120-room establishment with a roof terrace offering a panoramic view of the capital. Thus was born the Terrass'' Hotel, a mythical place in the heart of Montmartre frequented by many artists and writers such as Colette, Michel Simon, Pierre Brasseur or the pianist Samson François.
Since its creation, the hotel has always belonged to the family of its founder, who has passed on from generation to generation the passion of entertaining, surprising and also providing human and culinary experiences.
The hotel was completely renovated in 2015 with structural work that notably allowed for the standardization of the decoration of the rooms and the installation of the panoramic restaurant located on the top floor. This total renovation, carried out by Muriel Gaz, the Terrass'' Hotel's long-time architect, gave the hotel a contemporary, resolutely modern style while preserving its period cachet.
We will never tire of introducing you to our district and the typical charm of its alleys: its old-fashioned grocery shops and bakeries that smell of croissants, its galleries and shops with period facades. Not forgetting the endless staircases that offer a breathtaking view of the whole of Paris.
Just a few cobbled streets away from the Sacré Coeur and the Moulin Rouge, the Terrass'' Hotel offers you privileged access to all of Montmartre, which you can discover on foot. Staying here means immersing yourself in the world of travel and artists! The 92 rooms are decorated like dressing rooms and feature a contemporary décor with resolutely modern comfort.

Ever since it first opened its doors in 1911, the Terrass" Hôtel has been one of Montmartre's best kept secrets, just a stone's throw from the Sacré Coeur Basilica... The Terrass" Hotel's airy location on top of Montmartre allows most of its rooms to offer breathtaking views over Paris. Redesigned as artists' dressing rooms, their décor is classic with a contemporary twist, with studio lamps, directors' chairs and tiles that are reminiscent of the Paris métro in bathrooms hidden behind frosted glass walls.

My wife and I enjoyed our week-long stay. The lobby, elevators, and room were spotless and comfortable. I can't say enough about the staff, from front desk to housekeeping -- always smiling and willing to assist. The location was perfect -- close to everything (restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, transit). You must also check out the rooftop at least once and soak in the views, including the Eiffel Tower at night. Would stay here again.

Great boutique hotel. Good guest service. Adele and Melvin at the front are phenomenal at what they do. Clean and walkable to many restaurants and bars. Had a nice coffee station downstairs and good breakfast buffet in the morning. They have a famous rooftop bar that is very popular and always has a wait. Great view of the Eiffel Tower from the roof. Good service there as well.
Room Tip: Lots of restaurants and bars nearby.

Had a four night stay here, great hotel in a lively location with plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance also two metro stops within a ten minute walk. The rooms were spotless and we were lucky enough to get one with views of the effiel tower, there is a roof top bar and restaurant on the seventh floor with panoramic views over Paris, we pre booked the set meal for two on one night and it was excellent value could not fault the service or food will definitely use this hotel again

Really good hotel. Great staff. Great location with lovely restaurants and shops around. Best of the three we tried, beautiful room, fantastic staff. Great coffee. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall we had a very positive experience staying at this hotel. The location in Montmarte is tremendous - so close and walkable to many restaurants and sites. I will start with a few minor negatives. We were a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children ages 8, 10, 12). I had painstakingly searched for Paris hotels that offered connecting rooms. I communicated with Terrass Hotel staff often and confirmed several times that we had connecting rooms. We booked an Artist Studio Suite and a Classic Standard Room and were assured these rooms would provide connecting rooms. However, upon arrival we found that “connecting”apparently translated to two separate rooms at the end of a hallway with entry doors facing each other. While this was not ideal for us, we made it work and let our 3 kids sleep in the suite while my wife and I slept across the hall in the Classic room. I was a little anxious about this set-up at first, but it worked out. This little mix-up was the only flaw of our entire stay. Yes - we would have preferred beds tha
