There are some fatal mistakes that will immediately kill the entire project. For example, wrong channel topic and niche choice and wrong channel positioning. (But these are not all fatal errors).

There are also minor fuckups, which, in general doesn’t impact on a project so much. Everything may be fine, but the project will work a little worse. Each of such mistakes will take 3-5-7-10 or 15% of the profit.

However, large number of such fuckups can also kill the entire project. All these pitfalls and fails are at a different stages of project creation.

So let's go step by step:

1) Profitable channel topic selection. Mistakes:

  • Wrong channel topic selection. Let’s assume you decided to go with widely popular topics and chose the wrong topic like porn and memes. As a result, you will face with low ad prices, channel ban and low subscribers activity since these topics are stillborn.
  • Wrong channel packaging. Bad channel packaging will lead to poor payback, bad quality of content, lost of subscribers , reduced coverage, and as a result, low ad price tag on your channel. 
  • Imitation of competitors. As a result, you may manage your channel as ridiculously and foolishly as your competitors. (There are still few good admins in the English segment)

2) Posts and content plan. Mistakes:

  • Publishing the wrong content. It may be either too complex, overwhelmed by text, analytics, etc. killing all subscribers’ activity. Or vice versa, too light: only videos and memes
  • Bad post design
  • The content plan isn’t developed well enough, which is why it is monotonous, leading to audience burnout and a drop in views. The lower the views, the cheaper the ads
  • Default posts images taken from Google or Pixbay search and others hackneyed sources.

3) Subscribers attraction. Mistakes:

  • Promotion of an empty channel with no subscribers leads ad post conversion rate to be around 0%.
  • You may filter out channels to purchase ads from not well enough and drain the entire advertising budget. Channel may look good enough at a glance, however, the admin may receive the payment with no further ad post publishing.
  • Lack of ad post testings. You may run the entire promotion campaign with only one ad post leading to high cost per subscriber with no payback

4) Ad sales. Mistakes:

  • You may start selling ads either too early or too late. In the first case, you will simply earn less. In the second case, you can burn out the coverage.
  • You use only one of many possible ways to attract customers to advertising, or just wait customers to come by themselves.
  • Lack of price list, or it exists but it is so poorly represented that it scares away customers. 

5) Channel Network creation and scaling. Mistakes:

  • Too early or late new channels creation will lead to money drain and hundreds of dollars of underearned profits
  • You do not reinvest money, or reinvest too little. As a result, you may kill the whole scaling process
  • You do many business processes manually and do not automate them with the help of online services and bots
  • You delegate some processes too early, leading the whole system to go downhill due to unnecessary costs.
  • You do not go for Sales Launches. As a result you are missing out the whole ocean of money.

These are not all possible mistakes you may face, but the most basic ones. Probably the most important mistake is not to follow the system. Do not try to reinvent the wheel for the sake of your ambitions.
