How many of you have Telegram notifications enabled?
We know many people who disabled their entire Telegram notifications from android settings because they dont want to get annoyed for the thousands of groups and channel messages everyday. But what about our Private chats? Why we need to compromise our private chat notifications because of the groups and channels we are part of?
You might think that why dont they mute the groups?
Muting groups are a solution but what about the user who relies Telegram Desktop Workmode feature? The muted chats doesn't list for them, What about the user who only unmutes their favorite groups to identify it from hundreds of other groups?
So we are only left with one solution, mute our chat from android settings and make our private chats notifications compromised.
Lets go through some Telegram X for Android unique notification customization features which will help you to customize the notification the way you want.
1) Notifications Categorization based on Accounts
Notification channels categorized based on your accounts will give you an easy access to customization for each account
2) Notification Channels based on Chat Type

Notification channels based on chat type allows you to customize the chats globally instead of doing it one by one
3) Notification Channels for Customized Chats
For each chat you customize from the app, a new custom notification channel is created on Android settings
Lets check out some additional customization
4) Merge notification categories
This toggle allows you to display notifications from private chats, groups and channels in a single notification group or multiple notification group on notification bar based on your comfort
5) Mentions and Replies
This toggle allows you to decide if you want to get notified for Mentions and Replies based on the group notification settings or based on user notification settings
6) Include Dismissed Messages
This toggle allows you to decide if you need to include already dismissed notification to reappear or not when a new message arrived in the same chat (This toggles is individually configurable for Private chats, Groups and Channels)
7) Mentions and Pinned Messages Customization per group
You are allowed to customize the Mentions and Pinned message notifications on any specific group in spite of the global settings
8) Message Preview Customization per chat
You are allowed to customize Message preview per chat, this is very much useful when you need to enable message preview for all chats except a specific one
9)Secret chats on Lock Screen
This toggle allows you to show or hide presence of a secret chat notification on lock screen
10) Display Notifications Content when Passcode Lock Enabled
This toggle allows you to decide if you want to see read only notifications when the app is passcode locked
11) Reply to a mention directly from notification
Replying to a mention directly from notification will quote the mentioned message
12) Edited message reappearing
When Include Dismissed Message is turned on, if you get a notification and if it is swiped away from notification tray, once the message is edited by sender the message will reappear on your notification tray.
13) Mark as read for Mentions will mark only mention as read
If you get notified for a mention and you mark it as read from notification, only the mention is marked as read, the message in the group will not be marked as read.
Lets see some Troubleshooting options
14) Alert when notification is blocked in Android Settings
Telegram X will guide you through an Alert that notifications are turned off, if notifications for Telegram X is turned off from Android Settings.
If notifications are completely turned off, tapping on the alert will take you to Android notification Settings for Telegram X, where you can enable the notifications.
If specific notification channel is turned off, you can enable it back from notification style
15) Alert when Google Play Services are not available
Telegram X will guide you through an alert when Google Play Services are unavailable
16) Alert when Auto Sync turned off in Android Settings
When Auto Sync is turned off in Android settings and Google Play Services are unavailable, Telegram X will guide you to turn auto sync on
17) Alert when Sync turned off for Telegram X in Android Settings
If sync for Telegram X is disabled in Android Settings when Google play services are unavailable, Telegram X will guide you through an Alert that sync is turned off
Tapping on the alert will enable the data sync for Telegram X
