HLVPN Official

I would like to report the following Google Play application for a potential violation of Google Play's Impersonation policy:

Reported application:

Karing VPN

Package ID: operavpn.app

Google Play listing:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=operavpn.app

The application uses the name “Karing VPN”, which is confusingly similar to the established open-source proxy/VPN client “Karing”.

Official Karing project:

https://karing.app/

Official source repository:

https://github.com/KaringX/karing

The official Android application uses the package name:

com.nebula.karing

This appears particularly likely to mislead users because both applications operate in the same VPN/proxy software category. Users searching for “Karing” or “Karing VPN” may reasonably believe that “Karing VPN” (operavpn.app) is the official Android version of Karing, is published by the Karing developers, or is otherwise affiliated with the Karing project.

This risk of confusion is especially significant because the official Karing project explicitly states in its documentation that Karing is NOT distributed through Google Play and warns users not to download Karing applications from Google Play.

The reported application nevertheless uses the distinctive Karing name together with the descriptive term “VPN”, despite having a different package ID and apparently being published by a different developer.

This creates a substantial risk of confusion regarding the application's identity, origin and affiliation.

Google Play's Impersonation policy prohibits app titles and other presentation that are so similar to existing products or services that users may be misled.

I therefore ask Google Play to review “Karing VPN” (operavpn.app), including its title, developer identity, store listing, branding and functionality, and determine whether it violates the Google Play Impersonation policy.

Thank you.
