The actress finally answers the fan question.
Jennifer Aniston's Friends character Rachel Green was all over the #freethenipple campaign long before freeing the nipple was even a thing. Of course, we love her for it. But fans have been wondering why her nipples are so prominent in the show - or if it was an accident - and finally we have an answer.
Everybody loves Friends, and in particular, Jennifer Aniston's character Rachel Green seemed to be the ultimate trendsetter. Thanks to her incredible hair, amazing fashion and a transformation from rich daddy's girl to high-flying fashion buyer, fans were kind of obsessed with everything she did - and, er, does.
If only she ditched that whiny Ross on the season finale and jetted out to Paris...
But there's one thing that's left fans puzzled about Rachel over the years and that's why her nipples made so many appearances. Not that it's a bad thing - they were bloody legendary - but she was basically the OG for the #freethenipple movement.
Anyone knows why you can always see Rachel Green’s (Jennifer Aniston) erected nipples in Friends?
Fans have come up with their own theories. Some have said they think the wardrobe team did a Mean Girls and cut holes in Jennifer's bras to make her nipples show through (really?), while others assumed it was just a personal choice that the actress made behind the scenes. Or maybe it wasn't even a conscious decision?
One fan tweeted in 2015: "Did you know that Friends' producers told Rachel and Monica to cut holes in their bras to show their nipples?"
Other fans believed it was Jennifer who insisted on taking a pair of scissors to her outfits. Someone else tweeted, "You do know she made wardrobe cut holes in her bras so nips would show."
Over the years, Jennifer Aniston has finally answered the burning question, and unsurprisingly, her answer is pretty flawless.
Asked by Vogue about it in August 2017, the actress explained that there was no real rhyme or reason to it, but that she was proud of the way her boobs are. AMEN.
"Yeah I don't know what to say about that!" Jennifer said. "It's just one of those things, I guess. I wear a bra. I don't know what to tell ya! And I don't know why I'm supposed to be ashamed of them - it's just the way my breasts are. But hey, OG, I'm not going to complain!"
Glad that's finally been cleared up. Or should we say nipped in the bud? And kudos to Jen for being so candid and honest; we all have nipples and, unsurprisingly, they don't all come in the same shape and size, but it's nice to be reminded of that by the ultimate Hollywood star.

AMANDA Holden has defended her "huge saucepan nipples" after Britain's Got Talent viewers complained about her daring dresses.
The judge isn't phased by the hundreds of groans to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom over her low-cut ensemble on the ITV talent show last week.
In the previous episode of BGT , Amanda's sexy outfit sent fans into a tizzy as they questioned whether the star had suffered a wardrobe malfunction .
Amanda laughed at the complaints and said: "I can see what people think, it had a like an underwire, you know when you have an underwire bikini or bra, the end of it it's like an upside down U isn't it. The end of it dug in.
"I was more insulted that people thought I had either huge saucepan nipples or nipples over my cleavage.
"I am seriously thinking my girls (boobs) need separate representation to me, because they are known on their own. They don't need me, they're going to go off and do Piers Morgan's Life Stories on their own next year!
The 49-year-old star is performing on the upcoming semi-final for the ITV talent show this weekend.
The judge is set to give a stunning performance of Sweeney Todd's Not While I'm Around from her new album Songs From My Heart, which has already sold out on Amazon following its release on Friday.
Filming was pre-recorded due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic , and Amanda is once again showing of her enviable figure.
Taking to her Instagram page, the TV favourite offered fans a glimpse at what to expect on the show.
In the photo, the blonde beauty is staring dreamily into the distance, her hair styled into soft curls.
Amanda is sitting on the stage and wearing a plunging dress with diamante detailing.
She captioned the post: "Can’t wait to perform on @bgt on Saturday night #SongsFromMyHeart".
The album has been a labour of love over several years, and sees her perform her favourite tracks from the West End stage, as well as a duet with Sheridan Smith.
Amanda admitted she's nervous about Saturday's performance, telling The Sun: “Releasing it feels like I’ve had a wobbly tooth that just won’t come out, and you go, ‘Let me just yank it out’.
“That’s how I’ve felt throughout lockdown. It’s been like, ‘Are we going to do it? Yes. We’re gonna do it in October’, and then you think October’s miles away and it has come round so quickly.
“I am just so nervous but so relieved that it’ll be out and we just can get on with promoting it and doing all the stuff that comes with it. But I can’t wait now, to be absolutely honest.”

Before Kim Kardashian (opens in new tab) , Kendall Jenner (opens in new tab) , Bella Hadid (opens in new tab) , and literally every other celebrity in 2017 were freeing their nipples, the women of Old Hollywood had it covered . Or rather, uncovered. As we all know, nipples are nothing to be ashamed of and everyone has them, so all the high fives to these throwback stars.
The actress lounges on the set of You Were Never Lovelier wearing a dress that *just about* frees her nipples. Pretty scandalous for 1942, and you know 2017's naked dresses could never.
Here's the stunning Raquel Welch posing for a fashion shoot in 1968, making the case for going braless in a sheer white blouse.
British singer Marianne Faithfull freed the nipple in a lovely floral blouse that we can definitely see the likes of Gigi and Bella wearing circa right now.
Okay, so this is less freeing the nipple and more freeing everything *except* the nipple, but still counts and then some.

Rita Hayworth, popping up again to break a few more sartorial "rules"—this time in 1945.
Not even Kim Kardashian has worn a dress this sheer. The 1970s were truly the coolest decade.
Sophia Loren had a feminist moment while filming Boy on a Dolphin in 1957.
But nothing beats Loren in this circa 1964 outfit—where she freed her spider-style nipple pasties as opposed to her actual nipples.
May we present Marlene Freakin' Dietrich in 1950. Bow down.
