BALTIMORE β€” As Baltimore gets a stronger grip on the deadly pandemic, the ongoing gun violence epidemic is cutting young lives short almost everyday in the city with two teens being the latest victims.
Neighbors say the 19-year old was shot multiple times on York Road but they're speaking to a bigger issue. Tuesday morning's shooting is one of nearly 20 shootings in July's first week alone
More makeshift memorials, more crime scenes and more broken hearts as we near summer's midpoint in Baltimore.
Citizens are frustrated, it's more of the same.
"Each year no matter who it is, no matter what government it is or something like that it's the same thing," said David, a York street resident.
The latest victims of deadly gun violence, two teens. One was an 18 year old who was shot in the head Tuesday morning near West Pratt Street.
He was pronounced dead shortly after.
The other 19, who was shot multiple times on York road right across the street from where David and Cierra live..
We showed them WMAR-2 News daily shooting tracker where the numbers are climbing fast for the month.
"It just hurts. It could be your brother, your friend, your cousin, uncle, anybody a bullet takes. The bullet doesn't have a name on it," Cierra said,
After showing Thiru Vignarajah the shooting tracker he noted, "These are happening all hours of day and all parts of the city. yes you've got shootings at 1 am but you've also got them at noon at 11:45 in the morning 3:45 in the afternoon."
As a former federal prosecutor he called the numbers this month so far fearful.
"It's scary. it's starting to seep into the psyche of every community, not just cherry hill or federal hill. It's every neighborhood all across Baltimore that this feeling that this is not a safe place to raise our children it's not a safe place to have our families," said Vignarajah
Ladies enjoying a day with their kids at Federal Hill park weighed in on the city's latest violence spree after we showed them the tracker.
"My shock is that I'm not shocked enough. that's how i feel that it's not surprising that that would happen," Linda Ataifo said.
"It's really overwhelming to think that there are so many people that were involved in such violence," added Cristina Carter,
"When you think of freedom you think about safety and the freedom to be able to walk where you want to walk, go places and if you're concerned about being attacked violently as you're walking through the city how free do you actually feel," she added.
I think the people of Baltimore are afraid that we're about to have a summer of violence just like the summers of the past. they deserve a concrete crime plan," Vignarajah said addressing the gun violence.
"The mayor and governor need to get on this and try to stop this gun violence. right now they're not doing anything," said David.
Simply put, the folks that we spoke to hope the city can get a hold on gun violence so that more young lives aren't cut short.

Why does it say 11 and 12 are teen numbers? They don't have teen in it's name.
Teen numbers are numbers in the range of 11-19.
why something over zero is infinity?
It's undefined. You can try to divide something, say number 5 by 0,0001 you would get a very high number. You may then be tempted to think that the closer the denominator gets to zero the higher the result is going to be therefor going to be infinity.
However try the exact sam number 5 and divide it by -0,0001 you would get a very large Negative number. Therefor you could equally conclude when the denominator closes in to zero from the negative side you would reach negative infinity.
In short: The argument that dividing by zero is infinte is wrong, it IS undefined.

The point of a place chart is to help you count numbers. Eventually you won't need place charts anymore. But if there was a place value chart and the number 789456123 was in there, then the place value chart would begin at 100, 000, 000 and end at 999, 999, 999.

From my understanding, there is no true origin of numbers that historians can claim to be. Trying trace the humanity history, number existed way before as a means of communication and measurement just that it was interpreted differently in different societies. Take a look from the historian point of view. Ancient greek symbols like pie, alpha, beta e.t.c and the roman symbols came to interpreted as numbers in the modern contemporary English. Good question.
Why do we use zero not roman numerals
Because they take longer to write e.g. 1987 can be 1987, but in roman numeral it is MCMLXXXVII

let's count together from 0 to 19 oh you have 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and now we go to the two-digit numbers and then we go to 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 and 19 now why did I do this well the whole point of this is to see a pattern here especially in these two-digit numbers what do we see is true about all of these numbers that are you could think of them they're being in their teens well they all you might see have a 1 as their first digit and that one is sitting in what we will call the tens place and Lori says that each of these numbers that one represents a 10 what do I mean by that well if we go up to 10 over here this is telling us that this one it represents 10 and then this is zero represents zero ones so 10 is 10 plus zero you say oh well what's the big deal we already knew that any number plus zero is that number again but I think you'll see the pattern as we go into these other numbers so 11 is equal to so this one the yellow one represents 10 and then this pink one represents 1 and then 12 12 this yellow one represents 10 and then this pink 2 represents 2 or you could rub you could think of it as this yellow one says this is one 10 so we have a 10 right over there and this is two ones and you have 2 right over there and we can keep going I think you see the pattern 13 is 10 plus 3 13 is 10 plus 3 14 is equal to 10 plus 4 plus 4 15 is equal to 10 plus 5 and encourage you to pause the video now and try to finish the rest try to write 16 17 18 and 19 as ten plus some other number and really just make sure that you understand the pattern that's happening so let's do that so 16 so I can even write them all like this they're all going to be ten ten plus something so 16 is ten plus six seventeen is ten plus seven 18 is ten plus eight and 19 is 10 plus nine and when you write it out like this it becomes pretty clear that this one in each of these numbers represents ten and then the digit on the right that just represents that many ones
