Check out the teaser trailer for The Little Mermaid, the upcoming live-action reimagining of the animated musical classic. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. The Little Mermaid, directed by Rob Marshall, opens in theaters nationwide on May 26, 2023.
Ubisoft has announced Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, a new game in the series set in Ancient China. It features “classic” Assassin’s Creed gameplay and takes place in an open world, but is a mobile game rather than a console release.
In “Hellraiser,” a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.

Elsewhere in the magazine, Nintendo fan Robbie H. Lawton's short story 'Friends' had a young Zelda fan named Jason sharing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with Link, Nester gave advice on giving gifts for Fathers Day, Celebrity Profiles featured '21 Jump Street' star Holly Robinson, and we got a glimpse at Tim Burton's 'Batman' movie.
This issue's Howard & Nester was a bit of a miss: a pretentious Italian film auteur named Umberto Ria, preparing for a busy day of shoots on his film adaptation of Ninja Gaiden, has hired Nester as an on-set video game expert. Howard shows up as a bow-tie wearing stunt ninja, Nester is kicked off the set for stepping on the director's toes, and the gameplay hint the series is known for is a bit too confusing to follow this time around.
This issue's poster featured another Capcom game: this time, the platforming classic Mega Man II.
