Arcade 1UP stand-up arcade machines are getting more and more expensive ($700 or more on some, wow!), so a quality tabletop version with more modest features at a MUCH lower price is exactly what I was looking for! This unit looks GREAT, and the light-up marquee was an unexpected and welcome visual treat! Compared to my other tabletop unit, a Ms. Pac-Man unit, this TMNT unit has a number of additional benefits that make it well worth the extra money. First, the Ms. Pac-Man unit just did not seem stable enough. I don’t know about you, but it gets intense playing Pac-Man games for me. I find myself putting quite a lot of force into the joystick and even the sides of the machine with my second hand. I have to use my second hand to hold down the cabinet otherwise I tend to lift half of it off the table! This TMNT cabinet, though, has never had this problem. The wide control board & extra weight keep this thing rooted to your table, even with 2 players. Second, there’s an option for scanlines! Ok scanlines aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and these scanlines are not the most incredible scanlines you’ll ever see. But it’s a nice option to have, and it looks nice enough on a small screen that I do tend to use them. They are not perfect; some lines appear to be thicker than others, so there’s probably some scaling issues here but hey you can always turn them off if it bothers you. Whether you use them or not, Arcade 1UP adding new features shows they still care to improve their products and that’s great. Third and finally, this screen is SO much better than the one in the Ms. Pac-Man machine! The Ms. Pac-Man machine’s screen has some of the most limited viewing angles I’ve ever seen. Basically only the person sitting directly in front of the game will get a view without intense color distortions. Painful. This TMNT unit, though, has excellent visibility from pretty much any angle you’re likely to view the machine from! Honestly if it had the same screen as the Ms. Pac-Man screen, it would be unusable as a 2-player machine. So glad Arcade 1UP foresaw this problem and took action! The audio is pretty good and the speaker can get decently loud; you won’t have a problem hearing this one! However, there is one VERY annoying audio issue: the machine start-up plays a sound VERY loudly regardless of what the machine’s volume is set to! For whatever reason even though the sound is set to zero and makes no noise, the startup sound is still startlingly loud! You’ll never be able to turn this on in the middle of the night without waking somebody up. Well, there is ONE workaround: plug in a pair of headphones before you start it up. This is the only solution I’ve found. Very strange this is an issue at all! The controls feel nice, with a nice clicky joystick. The buttons are a bit mushy and some of them seem like they are starting to squeak, but very softly. You may want to replace the buttons with Sanwa buttons or whatever other kind you like, but if you’re not interested in that then you won’t have any problems with the built-in buttons. I have been smacking them HARD with my whole hand constantly (there’s a special extra-strong attack you can do when you hit both jump and attack at EXACTY the same time) and have never had any issues with missed inputs or feeling like the buttons are wearing out. The controls have enough space that a friend and I played comfortably side-by-side and didn’t have any issues of bumping hands together. The art all over the unit is fantastic; just like the original TMNT arcade game! I would have preferred the art from Turtles In Time, but it’s still great art that gets me excited to play. Costumed April is hilariously campy-looking, feels very 80s / early 90s 😂 The giant Nickelodeon logo is a little jarring, but I’m SURE Nickelodeon demanded either 1 huge logo or 1,000 tiny logos everywhere and to me I much prefer it this way so the rest of the art can be logo-free. I was about ready to buy this machine at full price, but then all of a sudden it was on sale for $150 and I couldn’t buy it fast enough! Overall I am VERY happy with this unit, and would be whether I had paid full price as well. There’s a couple small issues, but it really does deliver a satisfying arcade experience for 1 or 2 players and looks GREAT on a shelf. If you’re a TMNT fan, buy with confidence!

Excellent 2-player experience!

I bought this for our daughter who has become a big fan of ninja turtles and sings the turtle rap song often. this is an arcade classic and belongs in every American home like a king james bible! if you purchase it you will be happy and enjoy the background music as it plays all day long, and if not......there is a most radical volume button for when it needs to be quiet like when daddy stares at his crippling amazon balance.....what have i done?????

First off you must recognize this is by no means trying to be a full size or arcade 1up size replacement. This is ideal for those with limited space. The unit itself looks phenomenal with the light up marquee and side art. The games play great. My only gripe is it only has two games compared to other countercades with 3 or more. The joysticks are clicky and mushy but playable. The screen although on the small size looks fantastic from all angles and isperfect size for this build. I would recommend this over the full size cab as you are saving space for a full size unit that has more than 2 games. Overall very satisfied with it.

This is a nice alternative to the usual 1up cabinets, but I am not sure why they switched up the jump and attack buttons. I can adapt, but when I go between this and the Simpsons cabinet there is a bit of time where I hit attack when I want to jump and vice versa. Other then that, I love it.

The Arcade 1UP arrived brand new and in perfect condition. I turned it on and beat the first level. I loved Ninja Turtles as a kid! The shipping was fast too! Thanks again.

Pretty disappointed in the size of this, though had I paid closer attention to the discription, I would have known, so my fault on that. But it is really small. I don't know how it can be called a 'tabletop' when it seems my kids can barely sit comfortably next to eachother to team play it. For the price, I had hoped for something a bit more than what it is.

Getting the counter-cade treatment here for his landmark 40th, is yes, the man, PAC-MAN, ready to make his way through those mazes and evade BLINKY, PINKY, INKY, and CLYDE.
As the centipede makes its speedy descent from the top of the 8" LCD screen, it is your job to take it out before it takes you out. You will need strategy when shooting at it. Once hit, it will split in two where shot and increase its movement speed. In addition to the centipede, keep an eye out for the pesky spiders. They can be an ally, by removing mushrooms that may block your shots, and your movement, but make no mistake - they will take your life if they come in contact with you.
Jump back to the 80's, grab the joystick and prepare yourself for Arcade1Up's Dig Dug Counter-cade. You are Dig Dug, the underground miner. Dig your way underground through the earth and destroy the meanies who lurk below and uproot the prized produce. Destroy the meanies by pumping them up until they burst or by dropping boulders on them, but be careful as these meanies can transform into spooky ghost that will appear out of nowhere to attack.
Also includes PAC-MAN PLUS, GALAGA, and DIG DUGII!
Yep, here she is. Possibly a diva but most definitely an icon, Ms.PAC-MAN! Guide her way through those mazes while evading BLINKY, PINKY, INKY, and SUE.
Cowabunga! Take control of those pizza-lovin’ heroes in a half shell, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Packed into this Countercade are the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game, as well as Turtles in Time.
“He’s on FIRE!” Play hoops with NBA legends and pull off some over the top shots with NBA Jam and NBA Jam Tournament Edition, both included! These were among the first sports video game titles to feature real and digitized NBA-licensed teams and players. Intense b-ball action, with no fouls, no free throws, and so much more.
Attention: mighty masses of Marvel fans! Yes, it’s time to punch, kick, fly, blast, claw, and oh-so-much-more to your hero heart’s content. Packed into this superhuman deluxe counter-cade: Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs Street Fighter, The Punisher, and Marvel vs Capcom!
