To beat the giant mouser in area 4 simply stand underneath his head to
avoid being hit by his lasers.When he opens his mouth hit the yellow ball
that's in there.Just watch out for the little mousers he spits out!
On level 1, start by going down then to the far right where there is a sewer. Enter it and surface on the other side. When you resurface enter the only optional sewer which blocks you from the rest of the level. Enter it and you will see a pizza, grab it and exit, then return and it will be there again. Repeat as needed.
Note: This works anywhere you find a pizza.
In Level 3, if you're riding in the Turtles' Party Wagon and there is a Roller Car on the screen, press Select to get out of the Party Wagon. The Roller Car should dissapear.
Have one character throw out some boomerangs. Now switch to another character, and have him catch them when they return.

Change your system's date to either December 24th or 25th to see the turtles in Santa garb. Change it to October 31st to wear a pumpkin on your head.
To unlock Challenge Mode, defeat Story Mode with all four turtles.
Fulfill the following criteria to unlock the corresponding characters for Vs. Mode:
Beat the third Dojo Stage with all four turtles to learn the Secret of Gembu maneuever. Use the move to damage everyone on the screen. You'll have three opportunities per level to use it.
In the Subway Train on Level 2-Nano, you can use this technique to get huge combos. Simply push an enemy into one of the corners between the seats of the train and the wall, and then uppercut him (with R2). Now use regular attacks (with X) to keep him in the air. Time your attacks, and you can keep him in the air for as big of a combo as you want.
In 2-player mode, press X and SQUARE at the same time to get into a stance. Then have your teammate come next to you, face you, and then press X and SQUARE at the same time. You will perform a special team attack where you are thrown into enemies, hurting them.

You know when you are fighting those robots that shoot lasers and move really fast? Here is a way to defeat them easily. Wait near the right of the screen and when the robot moves to the right, try to attack it making it go right and making it bounce until it is defeated.

Load or reset the game, then execute the following BASIC command before running or restarting the program.
The Giant Mouser at the end of level 4 can be beaten even more easily than normal with this trick. Just stand under him and wait for his mouth to open. When his mouth opens to reveal the "weak spot", pause the game. Unpause the game, and the Mouser's mouth will be closed again, but his weak spot will be slightly visible from behind his mouth. You can now hit it to cause damage while his mouth is closed! Repeat this every time he opens his mouth for an easy victory.
Find a doorway that has a pizza slice or full pizza right at the beginning. Enter, grab the pizza, and exit. If you go back in the pizza will regenerate. Use this to restore power to all your turtles.
When you fight Rockstedy jump on top of the ledge on the right side of the screen, switch to Donatello and just attact downward. Everytime Rocksteady jumps he will take damage and you will get by without a scrape. This will work faster if you time your attacks with his jumps.
When you make it to the final boss (Shredder) all you need to do is have Donatello or another Turtle that has the scrolls and position them on the lower right side of the screen (not on the ledge). When Shredder comes close jump up and attack, this will knock him back and he will then jump up towards your Turtle again. Just keep jumping and attacking in that one spot and he will never get close to you because the ledge in front of him will prevent him from getting close enough to touch you. The only thing you'll have to worry about is his gun which he only fires while stationary, so just jump over what he shoots at you.
Go to the third level and hop in the Party Wagon. Whenever you see a pesky Crusher drive around, press SELECT. You will exit the car, and the Crusher should vanish from the screen.
When you get the boomerangs, throw up to 3 of them in the air, then switch turtles, and have the new turtle catch them. The new turtle will be able to use those boomerangs without having picked up a boomerang icon.
In Europe version, put 1HHHHH2 as the password.
At the title screen, press A, B, Right, Left, Right, Left, Down, Down, Up, Up & Start. If done right, you'll be able to increase your continues after picking your turtle.
At the title screen, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A & Start. If done right, you'll get a secret screen.
At the title screen, press Down, Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, A, B & Start. If done right, the stage select menu will appear after picking your turtle.
At the player select screen, press Down five times for a one-player game, or press Down ten times for a two-player game. After you use this code, your next player will be randomly selected when you lose a turtle.
Pause the game, and enter the following: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, and then start.
To play any of the 3 mini games press B, A, and Select at the same time while at the options screen then choose the question mark.
At the title screen, press Right 3 times, B 3 times, A 3 times and Start. If done right, you'll have 10 lives
When configuring the player controls, set Player 2's control scheme to spell out the word CHEAT. Make sure Player 1's controls do not use any of those keys, otherwise you won't be able to configure them for Player 2. With the cheat active, pause the game by pressing P, then press SPACE BAR to automatically skip to the next stage.
At the title screen, press Left 3 times, B 3 times, A 3 times and Start. If done right, you'll get to pick stages after selecting your turtle.
At the title screen, press Left, Right, B 3 times, A 3 times and Start. If done right, you'll get to pick stages after selecting your turtle and start with 10 Lives.

During the first fight with Baxter Stockman in the sewers, he will fly around and drop Mousers that will attack you rather than directly attack himself. He will drop more Mousers after you defeat them and he does this infinitely. This will take some time but you can repeatedly kill the Mousers he drops and rack up points until your lives rack up or max out. There is another place where you can grind for points infinitely, and it is much safer than in the sewers: during the highway stage, there are Footsoldiers riding motorcycles. When you reach the first big grey tire located at the top of the screen, these Footsoldiers will spawn infinitely as long as you don't make the screen scroll further. All you have to do is stand there, wait for a bike riding Foot to appear, kill him (which is quite safe with the A+B attack), and repeat until you get bored or you got that extra life.

At the Konami logo, press C, B, B, A, A, A, B, C. Start a 2 player game and both turtles will be able to hit each other.
At the title screen push A,B,B,C,C,C,B,A,START the level select will appear on a black screen.
Beat the game on Hard difficulty to see the complete credits.
During Story or Vs. CPU modes, the second player can skip to to the Vs. Player mode's player selection screen by pressing Start on their controller. This will not work during Story Mode's Bonus Game, however; to make it work during this section, you must press Up, A, and B together on Controller 2.
Beat the game on level 3 or higher to show your character's ending.
Normally, the game doesn't allow more than one player (most likely due to a glitch in the programming), but there's actually a way to bypass this in 1P vs. CPU mode. In the Player Select screen, choose to play as any character (1P) EXCEPT Hothead. Next, the game will ask you to select your opponent (CPU) and here is where you choose Hothead. Now play the game normally, it doesn't matter whether you win or lose. When the match is over, go for a rematch. This time, choose Hothead to be your character. The game will once again ask you for your opponent, but look and behold! The CPU cursor is already on Hothead. Choose him and enjoy the forbidden battle (unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to do this with a 2nd player).

To bypass fighting everybody and get to the boss trio without losing continues start a 1P game. When the screen changes to the space map have controller 2 enter the game for a 2P game. Have player 2 choose a character and select that person's home planet. Leonardo - Bio Planet Michaelangelo - Mirage Planet Donatello - Futuristic City Planet Rapheal - Magma Ocean Planet April O'Neil - Spaceship Casey Jones - Ice Planet Ray Fillet - Ocean Planet Sisyphus - Jungle Planet You can beat up a defenseless second player and the game will give you credit for defeating that character in the tournament lineup. After you beat all eight defenseless fighters on their home stages the game will begin with the boss matches and you'll have kept all your continues.
At the title screen press Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, B, A, B on Controller 2 and Start the game on Controller 1 before the screen disappears.
After getting the game over screen, DO NOT CONTINUE. Instead let the game take you back to the main menu and then choose "Continue Game". You'll start at the beginning of the level that you died on, along with the points that you had when you entered the stage. (NOTE: this doesn't work on stage 1)
Play story mode and defeat the boss at the end of a level to unlock that stage in quickplay mode.

However, there is a way to make the fight a lot easier. When either form is weakened to near death, their helmet flies off. As you're beating up on the two forms of Shredder, one of them will lose their helmet very quickly. When this happens, LEAVE HIM ALONE. This Shredder is the fake, and he cannot use the lightning attack without his helmet on. Only the real Shredder will be able to use the attack from here on in, but since it's only him using it, you can avoid it and slowly beat him down with ease.
For the rest of the fight, ignore the fake. If you kill him, the real Shredder will release another fake and you'll have to worry about lightning from both forms all over again.
