I like the sounds, but the thing is very cumbersome to use. If you have big hands or fingers, just forget it. You're going to get hand cramps twisting the knobs and pressing button combinations. I think it would be a fun gift for a kid, or someone with lots of patience. It's cute but takes too much fiddling to get to work. I had the battery fall out once. One day maybe I'll sample the sounds off of it but using it to create patterns is tedious. Can't recommend it.

I am a huge Mega Man fan and am very happy with this device. My only issue is it shows a blue silicone case in the pictures, but I didn't receive one. I assumed by the photos that it came with a blue case. After receiving it and not having a case, I searched Amazon for the blue case, and it is not for sale. Where is the blue case? Why show it in the photos and not include it, or have it for sale?

I'm not really gonna talk about how great the PO-33/PO-133 is, because chances are that if you're reading this, you already know all about it. However, I have two issues (hence the slightly lowered rating). 1. The packaging it came in was all messed up. It looked like somebody ripped open the side panel of the cardboard packaging. 2. I've had it for maybe a month and some of the buttons are already giving up on me. They're not busted, but they tend to only work when I press them as close to the center as possible and with a decent amount of pressure. Any sort of angling on my press will not trigger the button. This probably could have been avoided by buying a case with buttons, but I was a naïve fool that refused to use one. (Note: I was not smashing my fingers into it, I actually treated it pretty delicately due to the "exposed" nature of it.) It's a fun device, and a very capable one at that. However, the build quality is kind of disappointing. At the end of the day I paid ~$90 for a very fun device that I can still use albeit with some difficulty. I'll probably buy another one (and a case) when my current one inevitably gives out. P.S. The only real difference between the PO-133 and PO-33 is in the design and display. You can just use the transfer system to get the stock samples from either one if you dig around on the internet. People have uploaded both.

Everything I was hoping for and then some. This was my first PO and now I'm terrified I might be addicted and buy a dozen more.

Pros: •Affordable •Hardwear not software •you can take it anywhere. Laying in bed. Sitting on the pot. Taking a stroll in the park. •Limited possibilities means you use your creativity more. •Suprisingly cool features Cons: •You really need to get to know how to use most the features and spend a diecent amout of time tweaking your song to make it sound cool. Otherwise youll likely end up with something that sounds dull. •Its easy to forget to turn off "write" and screw up the pattern youve been working on. (Apparently theres a feature that helps prevent this) First impressions: For those that are familiar with working in a DAW Pocket Operators are like using your mouse to set the notes (and attack, sustain, decay, release) to a software instrument in the squencer window. Very grindy. . . I guess thats just the nature of sequencing. Other than that this little gadget is pretty cool. The 8-bit sound chip on the po-128 sounds super cool. A big turn on with this is that its not a softwear instrument in a DAW. Working with a DAW with limitless possibilities can dampen your creative process. Why I got this: I have kids and I dont really have the time to dive deep into synthesizers, recording, mixing, and mastering like I did when I was a bachelor. Conclusion: Go for it. Of course do some research on the particular po your wanting.

The batteries have issues staying in if the device is jostled in any way, and you have to reset the clock each time, but otherwise I have had no problems! It does feel a little flimsy when attempting to plug anything into either jack, but that may be my paranoia.

I own several other pocket operators and this one is beyond frustrating sadly. Any attempt to live sequence record is not happening. Button presses are added at very random intervals and manually adding them is time consuming. Great piece is you have the time for choosing each note in the sequencer, but not if you want to live record sequences on the fly.

great little device.

PO 133 - Love the pocket operators this is my favourite by far, sadly the microphone stopped working (everything else works great) PO 28 - This one was a little harder to learn but after watching a few YouTube videos worked it out. Both sound great, though the 28-robot is a bit quieter than the 133 or other PO's I own. (also has the 12 and 35 purchased used on Ebay)

Unreliable Quality

First one bought had a faulty button (would randomly not respond, especially if played quickly), replacement unit had a faulty knob, so do not have high hopes over the quality of these units. If you can find a unit that works, however, it does seem like it could be a very fun alternative to a DAW, but if you do buy one make sure to check every control is responsive.

You need batteries to purchase when you use this.

Expensive but fun I did have resistance to purchase but in the event I did.
