The PO32 came brand new in the box and the case is identical to the one I ordered directly from teenage engineering. One of the cables has an end that doesn't fit into any of my 3.5mm jacks but I didn't buy it for the cables anyways. If you are interested in using micro tonic with the PO, you will have to purchase it separately. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and have really enjoyed the PO32

This is a great kit, even for those with no experience with drum kits, like myself. I had a bit of trouble with the battery holder (just bend to suit) and the documentation is adequate but the people that wrote it know too much about the subject to help the ignorant. I couldn't figure out how to record my own pattern without a lot of blundering. Finally I erased an existing pattern (doc is clear on this). Then I pressed write and (taking my time because this its not real time) I selected a sound (hold sound, press 1-16) then pressed 1. That means that sound will be heard for the first of 16 steps in the sequence that makes up the pattern. Then I pressed 4 so now my selected sound will be heard in steps 1 and 4 but 2 and 3 and 5-16 will be silent. I selected another sound and pressed 9 and 12, then I pressed write again to finish recording my pattern. When I press play I hear something like bash,bash...boom,boom where bash is my first sound and boom is m second. I guess everyone knows all this but I had to 'discover' it myself. Now I can play with effects and accents and so on. I can make another pattern and chain it with the first or with the exiting patterns. I can hold write and tweak it with more sounds. Pretty fun and sounds good with an external speaker, or I assume, headphones. Good toy for idle moments. Power switch would be nice.

Gave this as a gift, and he loved it. It gives it a 5 star review and has purchased another since then. Great sounds quality, and very portable.

I thought volume is down or i just missing something. But turns outs internal speaker is broken. I wish i had a chance to play around with it.

Sounds great. Difficult to use with adult thumbs. Really wanted to explore this thing, but the menu system made it difficult for my feeble mind. If you're young and have more patience than i do, you'll love it.

Great little drum machine. The headphone extension also came in handy. Not so much for the pocket operator, but for my iPad that's in a case and requires a slimmer headphone cable than the one from my studio style headphones. Great little kit

initially bought it thinking I would just use it primarily as a metronome for practice. I didn't realize that it is a fully capable drum sequencer with quality sounds, effects and capacity to edit various sound parameters in real-time. There is a learning curve to the pro-features but lots of online video support.

I love being able to swap out all of the sounds with whatever I find online. This thing is great.
