Foam is dense memory foam. The Foam cut out by the volume knob presses on the knob from top left corner. Paired it with the Decksaver to relieve that pressure on the volume knob, and make it pretty bullet proof for general travel. The pocket and straps are kind of like molle gear for military style back packs. In the pocket/detachable pouch I have a set of earpods with their standard cable, a 6 foot stereo 1/8” cable, the factory usb cable, and probably a couple more small cables or adapters. The pockets snap on. Well constructed with quality materials. Kind of surprised the official case is such that you have to buy a second item to really protect the unit, that’s really why the 3 star rating. If you’re not traveling with it much and you just want a storage case, 5 stars.
It's pricey and I wish there were two zippers honestly. But it works well. The aesthetics are simple and sleek too. It feels a little scary at first because if you press hard enough you can definitely feel the buttons being pressed. But I feel more comfortable with it now after having it for a month. Obviously, do not put anything heavy on top of it or apply too much pressure trying to fit it in a tight backpack or suitcase. If you need a hard case, there are other alternatives. I've read people use a deck saver with along with this case. So maybe that helps.
Works well and is a pretty case for a pretty synthtrument. It's just... expensive. Like an iPad bought at an Apple Store just buy the cover and device together and don't look at the itemized cost. TE proposes that you use the box the OP-1 is packaged in as an eco-friendly carrying case. Mine was falling apart after a month of travel in my backpack. That was when I sprung for the case and honestly wish I had just bought it together with the OP-1 because it deserves it.
This was a gift for my 27-year old son. He asked for the OP-1 as a gift, to have a compact "toy" to compose, play and record his music while traveling. He hinted that the case would also be helpful. I purchased the OP-1 elsewhere (at the MOMA store, where I used my member discount) but they did not have the case there, so I purchased it from Amazon. The case seemed overpriced, as other reviewers noted, but my son was thrilled to have it to protect the OP-1 while traveling. It was a perfect fit, and the case with synthesizer easily fit into his carry-on travel backpack
It is made to fit the o p-1 Perfectly. Build quality you would expect for the price. I got the Deck saver too and when I Put them all together I feel like I could throw it off the balcony
You must buy this case if you own an OP-1. The fit is amazing and the small pouch is perfect for carrying a line-in cable for sampling and the charging cable. The OP-1 is not too fragile of a device but for such an expensive thing it's a no-brainer to buy this case. Perfect for just throwing the synth in your backpack without worrying about it.
Great fit and seems fairly sturdy. The charging cable doesn't quite fit in the front pocket from my experience. And I would have liked if the top was a little bit harder but it does the job great and I can't really complain.
This case adds a ridiculous amount of excess bulk to the OP-1 on the go. The case is way too big, doesn't hold the OP-1 securely inside the case, and doesn't really offer much protection to the OP-1 at all. If something was to the hit OP-1 in the case, or you were to drop it, the case would not offer much protection at all and the OP-1 would still get damaged. In fact, with very little pressure, you can easily press in and click the knobs right through the top of the case, so that should give you an idea of how much "protection" this case is offering...

Not worth the price, poor protection and size is also a problem
I was skeptical with all the reviews saying that is not a good case. Teenage engineering produced a good quality synthesizer, it looks like they value quality so it only makes sense that the official carrying case for their synth would also be of great quality. Unfortunately for the money you pay you don't get that. Don't get me wrong, it would be a 5 star case if it was in the range of 20-25 pounds but when you pay 60 quid for a soft case that doesn't offer good protection to your very expensive synth then that's a problem. There are three main problems with this case, the first one obviously being that it is way overpriced. The second issue and maybe the most important is that is doesn't offer good protection. The bottom part of the case is very thin, you can still press the buttons and the knobs. You definitely don't want to drop the synth even in its case. The third problem is the size. I thought people were exaggerating but apparently they were correct. It is a poor fit. The case is too small. You can still fit it in the case but it is very very tight. You really have to squeeze and press to put it in the case. As you can see in the pictures, the case arrives with a white foam piece. That is the size that fits perfectly in the case, basically representing the size of the synth that goes in the case; now when you take this and put it on top of the OP-1, you can see how much smaller it is and how much you have to squeeze. Now that I have bought it and have first hand experience, I would say that it is preferable to get one of those flute or revolver cases people are using for the OP-1. Better protection for a very expensive synth.

OP-1 doesn’t even fit.
Had the exact same issue as the reviewer “Dean”. OP-1 doesn’t fit in the foam guides at all. It fits the insert perfectly, but the inser is quite a lot shorter than the device. Make the case totally useless. Seems to be a QA issue as I’ve found forum and Reddit threads about exactly this issue and they’re all in the last 3 months - before this, it seems people had no issues with the fit at all (confirmed by photos). If it wasn’t for this, it’d say it was a solid 4/5 case. Overpriced, and not a drop safe case, but looks good, decent materials, and perfect for throwing in a backpack and getting out of the house. That said, my OP-1 just sits awkwardly on the foam that’s meant to wrap it, so the case is totally and utterly useless - I’ve returned it and emailed the manufacturer (Unit Portables) to make them aware that their Quality Control has gone AWOL.
Ok, So everyone thinks the OP-1 accessories are over priced a little but they're super well made. this thing is clearly designed to put the OP-1 first. its got a good amount of padding and there are indents where there need to be to accommodate the little knobs etc. solid and I feel like I can chuck the OP-1 in this and not worry at all.

Brilliant synth, terrible accessory
Ludicrously overpriced and doesn’t even fit correctly. The foam is too tight to hold the OP-1 without it seesawing in and out. Brilliant synth, terrible accessory. Get a third party case.
Took the plunge and got this official/expensive one after doing a ton of research. This is a decent case. Not cheap but it holds the op1 nicely and is small enough to throw into a bag. Recommended
