Thanks to the web and an endless variety of apps, many online jobs for teens are available.
U-Haul offers the best of both worlds. It offers a traditional job in an online setting. The well-known moving company regularly hires customer service representatives.
The reps work at helping clients who call their customer service center. For example, they might want to schedule a moving truck or ask about fees.
However, you won’t work from a brick-and-mortar building. Instead, you can be a customer service rep for U-Haul right from the comfort of your own home.
All you’ll need is a computer, Internet service and a headset.
U-Haul isn’t different from other companies that use online customer service representatives. However, they do recognize that there are many responsible high-school-age teens out there.
For that reason, they’re willing to hire teens starting at age sixteen.
Many other companies are hiring for customer service rep jobs. But all that I found in my research wanted employees who were age eighteen or older.
U-Haul, however, knows that great employees can be found in the 16-plus age range.
Are you willing to learn how to work with customers and provide great service? If so, this might be a good online job for you.

BookScouter helps people sell textbooks and other used books. They work to get you the most money for your books.
How? By comparing buyback offers from over thirty-five book buyback vendors. And you can do this with just one search.
As a teen, you might have a few textbooks laying around from school. If not, you can find some by hitting local garage sales.
If you live near a college campus, you could find a lot for sale. You can check out local thrift stores too.
Buy the books and re-sell those books for the highest price. Use BookScouter to help you find the highest paying vendor.
Do you have lots of book? You now can do a bulk ISBN check. A BookScouter user may enter multiple ISBNs to learn what vendor will pay more for the whole bunch of books.
Here’s how BookScouter works. First, you find the ISBN of the book. Second, type the number in the BookScouter search bar.
Then the site populates a list of all of the vendors from different sites who will buy your book. It will let you know the price they’ll pay for it.
The prices buyers offer can range from between $1-$2 and even higher. Most sellers provide free shipping labels too. So this means you can send the book to them at no cost to you.
Once the buyer receives the book, they’ll assess it to be sure it’s in the condition you stated it was then if approved, they will send money to your PayPal account.

My teen daughter has been making money by selling designs through the site CafePress. And on another popular site, Redbubble.
She’s been selling her designs for over two years now. Also, she has a few items for sale that contain popular phrases instead of pictures.
The process is super easy. First, you create an account at CafePress or Redbubble. Doing that is free. Next, draw a design you think will sell. Then upload it to your CafePress (or Redbubble) account.
CafePress and similar sites offer those designs for sale on various items.
Here are some of the items they sell with custom-made designs:
There are other items available for sale as well. You can buy shower curtains, bumper stickers, wall decals and comforters.
The sites show your designs on the types of items they have for sale. They’ll show it in all of the colors they offer too.
When a customer buys an item with your design on it, you earn money. The company pays you a commission based on the sale amount. They’ll send you the money via a PayPal deposit.
You can help increase awareness of the designs you have created and are offering. Share your product links to your CafePress account on your social media sites.
The more exposure your products get, the more chance of someone seeing and buying them.
This is a great way for teens to make passive income. (Passive income is income that you don’t have to work for once the initial work is done.)
With CafePress, the income is mostly passive income. This is because once you upload your design, your work is done. The products are available for potential customers to see and buy.
Are you artistic or have a knack for creating witty sayings? If so, creating designs for CafePress might be a good job for you.

The Fiverr website is a popular site where people can find quick jobs paying $5. And many of the jobs will pay you more than that.
You’ll start by creating your Fiverr profile. Use it to share your list of services and talents. People needing help in your area of expertise can view your profile.
As a teen, you can offer your art, writing, and gaming skills. Or you can offer any other service for sale on your Fiverr profile. Also, don’t forget to share the price you charge for each service.
There are ways to decide what you’ll charge for your services. Some members base their price on how long the task will take to complete.
For instance, let’s say your talent is to create a poem. If you can do that in twenty minutes or less, $5 is a great price to charge.
However, what if you’re offering a service to draw customized pictures of peoples’ pets? And that job takes you an hour or two. In that case, you may want to raise your price higher. You can charge $20, for example.
Fiverr takes twenty percent of what you make from jobs as a commission. You get the rest. The company pays you directly. This means you don’t have to worry that a dishonest client won’t pay you.
The services offered on Fiverr are nearly endless.
For example, Musicians offer to create quick, customized songs for a client’s loved one. Or Poets offer to create poetry. They might help a client celebrate their anniversary or other special occasions.
Do you like the idea of doing custom, short-term jobs related to your interests? If so, offering your services on Fiverr could be a great place to start.

By working with eBay, you can make money in a number of ways. eBay focuses on selling things to others.
What do you have that you could sell? Do you create original artwork? You could post pictures of the artwork and sell that on eBay.
Do you have a knack for finding great deals at garage sales? Look for items that you can buy and resell on eBay at a higher price. Kids’ clothes and toys tend to be good sellers on eBay. So do up-to-date used textbooks.
Or do you have clothes, accessories, games or toys that you no longer use? Are the items well taken care of and in great shape? If so, you can re-sell them on eBay.
With eBay, there are two ways you can sell things. You can pick a specific price that you want to get for the item.
Or you can put it up for sale as an auction item. With the “auction” option, you choose how long you want the auction to last. And you choose what the starting bid price is.
It’s more appealing to potential buyers if you start out offering an auction item at a lower price.
But if not many people bid on the item, you can end up selling it for a lower price than you want. Keep that in mind before choosing the “auction” option.
You’ll need to choose a shipping price as well. Do this before you place an item for sale on eBay.
The eBay website will help you by estimating how much they think it will cost to ship an item. You can set your own shipping price.
Or you can offer for the item to be shipped for free. It will say “Free Shipping” on the listing. You can pay for shipping yourself. If you do that, you may want to increase the price of the item to include the shipping cost.
If one of your items sells, the buyer pays you via PayPal. You ship the item to the customer.
eBay does charge a listing fee for your item. It can be up to ten percent of the selling price. For this reason, it’s important to remember to consider that fee when deciding on a listing price.
Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years old (can use an adults profile with their permission)
