Scott McCall was just another kid in high school. Until, one night his best friend Stiles brings him to the woods, to look for a dead body, and Scott is bitten by a werewolf. Being a werewolf came with its perks- stronger, faster, new star in the lacrosse team, popularity- but also made it hard to control his anger. Scott has also fallen for the new girl in town, Allison, whose dad is trying to hunt and kill Scott. Scott now has to try and balance his out of control life, figure out how to control his new powers, try not to be killed by the alpha that bit him, and protect Allison- and keep her from finding out his big secret.—ahmetkozan
Dylan O'Brien originally went in to the auditions to read for the role of Scott but felt a better connection to the role of Stiles.
Throughout out the series, it's clear that the actors/actresses portraying teenagers are actually in their 20s+. This is done as to not interfere with the schooling of real teenagers and to give the general viewing audience who are teenagers themselves someone they can look up to.
My friend had been pestering me to watch this show for a year but I would always refuse. From the little I knew, I had only heard about there being wolves and an unnecessary amount of shirtlessness. Both of course are true but there is another element to the show that makes it different.

Mainly the fact that after season 1, they showed us another side of the supernatural world with all the different creatures like kanimas, kitsunes, notgitsunes (to name a few). Another reason being Stiles. Sure everyone talks about him all the time but him and his friendship with Scott really make the show. In seasons 1 and 2 he's the sarcastic, lovable comedy relief which something like teen wolf needs with it being so dark.

The characters all develop well as the plot goes on with some great additions. The running theme is always "who is the -" in each season like who is the kanima? Who is the darach?

Overall it's a really good show and my only regret is avoiding it for so long.
