Cheerleading recruits were blindfolded, stuffed into a washing machine and cardboard boxes, before being ordered to strip in front of male squad members
KANSAS University cheerleaders were made to strip naked during a “humiliating” initiation ceremony.
New recruits were blindfolded, stuffed into a washing machine and cardboard boxes, before being ordered to strip in front of male squad members, it has been revealed.
One victim was so traumatised she left the university before finishing her studies, News.com.au reports.
The university launched an investigation into the incident following complaints by the victims that cheerleading coaches allowed the hazing to take place on a yearly basis.
As a result the whole squad have been put on a year-long probation.
Two team members, who wished to remain anonymous, said they were abused during an “initiation” event for six first-year members last July, while the team was on campus for a children’s summer camp.
The cheerleaders arrived at Kansas football’s Memorial Stadium in running shoes, per the team’s orders, and were told to sprint up and down a hill.
The older team members then blindfolded them, placed them in cars one by one and brought them inside an empty house, the two victims said.
One said she was forced inside of a washing machine, while the other said she was put in a cardboard box and jostled around as they banged on the sides.
They were then frogmarched into another room and asked a series of questions.
For each question they answered incorrectly, they were required to remove an article of clothing.
Eventually standing there naked, the six cheerleaders allegedly were taken into another room, while one of them said she remembered being separated from the group.
“I had taken my blindfold off along with another girl sitting next to me, and two alumni guys walked in and saw us naked,” she told student newspaper, The Kansas State Collegian.
Split into two groups, two of the cheerleaders said to have been taken downstairs and deemed “initiated,” while the others were subjected to public shaming.
“They took me and two other girls, put us in a room together and told us we are ugly, we don’t deserve to be on the team and our skills weren’t good enough,” one of the cheerleaders said.
“They sat us down with all the alumni and all returning cheerleaders.”
The incident has left the two cheerleaders emotionally traumatised, they said, leading one to leave the school permanently.
“The reason why I’m leaving KU is solely because the university and the athletic department decided to treat me and my other teammates like we didn’t matter and were instead just pretty faces for the media,” she said.
Kansas’ cheerleading team came under national controversy in November 2016 when a photo surfaced on Snapchat showing four team members, three male and one female, wearing matching Jayhawks sweaters emblazoned with “K” on the front, with the caption “Kkk go trump.”
The university temporarily suspended the cheerleaders from competition as a result.

A stripper has gone viral on social media after claiming she danced naked in front of her own brother at his bachelor party.
The wild story was relayed by the exotic entertainer — known only as Kendra — in a TikTok posted May 15 that has since clocked upwards of 10 million views.
“I ended up being the stripper at my brother’s bachelor party and I didn’t realize until I was completely nak3d,” the dancer, whose handle is @kendradollx , wrote in text overlaying the video.
Kendra did not explain where or when the purported party occurred, but the brunette beauty has previously revealed that she works at a strip club “in the south.”
The TikTok in question has since sparked fierce debate, attracting hundreds of commenters apparently skeptical of the entertainer’s tawdry tale.
“I would’ve noticed all my brother’s friends and most definitely my brother,” wrote one woman below the contentious clip.
“Things that never happened: this,” as another detractor bluntly put it.
Others leapt to Kendra’s defense, sympathizing that they could only imagine how embarrassing the incident must have been.
“Do y’all realize how dark it is in those places?” one user snapped back at the social media cynics.
The Post has contacted Kendra to request further details about her erotic dancing disaster.
Yet another faction of commenters claimed karma was to blame for the groom-to-be having his sister show up as the stripper at his bachelor party, arguing that he shouldn’t have been ogling other women before his wedding.
“Strippers at bachelor parties is so weird to me. No shame to strippers at all, but I would never be okay with my boyfriend looking at a girl like that,” one asserted.
Kendra is the latest figure to go viral on TikTok by recounting a wild story that took place inside a strip club.
In March, California real estate agent Missy Peterson shocked her boyfriend of two years by secretly placing a tracker on his car, following him to a strip club and hopping onto its stage, where she then executed a devastatingly sexy stunt.
A TikTok testimonial detailing her saucy showcase has garnered more than 5 million views.
“I got onstage in a bra and thong that one of the strippers gave me, walked up to him and said, ‘Oh, you want a show? I’ll give you a show,’ ” Peterson, 40, told The Post of her X-rated exploit — which ultimately earned her $100 in tips.

LADY Gaga left London gig-goers dumbfounded when she stripped naked onstage at the weekend.
The brazen pop eccentric was in the mood to shock during her surprise performance at nightclub G-A-Y on Saturday night.
Initially, she lifted her dress to reveal she wasn’t wearing knickers before shedding the entire garment, walking offstage in the buff.
Although most pop performers choose to protect their modesty throughout concerts, Gaga is by no means the first star to expose her rude bits.
Here are eight others who have intentionally given audiences an eyeful of their nudeness...
One affliction US rocker Courtney, 49, has never suffered from is shyness.
Having already exposed her assets in such movies as The People Vs Larry Flynt, Courtney thought nothing of removing her boob tube at the Sao Paulo Music And Arts Festival in 2011.
Alternative rocker Amanda, 37, stunned fans when she invited them to scrawl all over her naked body during a gig in Germany last year.
The New Yorker – one half of former duo The Dresden Dolls – stepped starkers into the audience and willingly allowed the crowd to write messages on her bare skin.
Rock activists Rage Against The Machine showed they had real balls when they made a naked stand against censorship at the Lollapalooza festival in 1993.
Protesting against the Parental Advisory logo often seen on albums containing explicit content, the nude quartet stood still and silent for 15 minutes with duct tape over their mouths and the letters PMRC – Parents Music Resource Center – painted on their chests.
Madonna, 55, sparked controversy in Turkey last year when she pulled down her bra to expose her right nipple.
The Queen of Pop sent shockwaves through the Istanbul crowd when she flashed her boob in the middle of her hit Human Nature.
Red Hot Chili Peppers gave new meaning to the words “Dutch courage” when they performed wearing nothing but socks on their genitalia in the Netherlands.
The 1988 gig has become an iconic moment in the US band’s career – so much so, Anthony Kiedis and co repeated the eye-popping spectacle at a concert in 2006.
Grunge band L7’s frontwoman Donita Sparks was no stranger to making waves – and she caused quite a stir in 1992 when she dropped her trousers and undies on UK TV show The Word.
Also that year, Sparks – now 50 – removed her tampon and threw it into the Reading Festival crowd to hit back at fans who had become rowdy due to the technical problems blighting their set.
Michael Jackson’s younger sister Janet, 47, triggered uproar in the US when Justin Timberlake popped open her corset to expose the singer’s breast at the Super Bowl half-time show.
Despite the surge of fury, Janet attempted to downplay the 2004 incident by claiming the costume reveal had gone awry and apologised to “anyone offended”.
When plying one’s trade in the field of shock-rock, onstage nudity is par for
the course.
It seems Manson, 44, isn’t afraid to take on any challenge – including singing with his genitals squeezed tightly between his legs.

Brooke Shields was looking back at easier days when she made her Instagram post for her 1.2M followers on Thursday.
The Pretty Baby actress was seen with no clothes on as she sat atop a massive, petrified tree branch that had washed ashore.
This daring image - snapped five years ago - has been shared as the Vogue model, 55, continues to recover from a broken femur in a freak accident at the gym. The accident took place in January.
No clothes necessary: Brooke Shields was looking back at easier days when she made her Instagram post for her 1.2M followers on Thursday. The Pretty Baby actress was seen with no clothes on as she sat atop a massive, petrified tree branch that had washed ashore
In her caption Brooke said, 'This Earth Day, I’m joining @NatGeo in sharing one of the places on the planet that matters most to me. Celebrate your love for the planet with us by sharing a spot you care about. #ShareYourSpot.'
A similar image was shared by Brooke in 2016 but in that one, the star had on a T-shirt and shorts as she said, 'The "Naked Tree." I feel overdressed!'
Shields suffered a staph infection after undergoing two surgeries to repair her broken femur.
For Earth Day: In her caption Brooke said, 'This Earth Day, I’m joining @NatGeo in sharing one of the places on the planet that matters most to me. Celebrate your love for the planet with us by sharing a spot you care about. #ShareYourSpot'
The actress broke her right femur after she fell off a balance board while at a gym in New York in January, and has revealed she initially underwent two separate surgeries to try and mend the broken bones.
Detailing the horror fall, she said: 'It felt like it was all in slow motion. And then I just started screaming. Sounds came out that I've never heard before.'
Brooke explained she was 'afraid [she] was paralyzed' at first but kept telling doctors she could still feel her toes.
Five years ago: A similar image was shared by Brooke in 2016 but in that one, the star had on a T-shirt and shorts as she said, 'The "Naked Tree." I feel overdressed!'
The actress then had an operation to insert two metal rods, 'one from the top of my hip down, and another across into the hip socket.'
But after the broken portion of her right femur popped out, she immediately underwent a second surgery to add five rods and a metal plate to anchor it all in place.
And after almost three weeks in hospital Brooke was finally sent home, where she developed a very serious staph infection which required her to return for emergency surgery on the IV site where she'd had three blood transfusions.
In the hospital: The former Vogue model, 55, broke her femur in a freak accident at the gym causing her months of physical therapy. The star continues to need a cane when she walks
So much pain: Shields suffered a staph infection after undergoing two surgeries to repair her broken femur
