Terry O'Quinn , the star of The Stepfather (1987) , was offered a cameo role in this movie, but he turned it down.
There is a large storm that the son and his girlfriend are seen sitting in the car and he finally runs into the house and she is left in the car watching him enter. In the background of the neighbors circular driveway you can see where the "rain" has a nice arc on the driveway and the area farther away from this arc is dry.
Unrated version was released on Region 1 DVD and Region A Blu-ray.

Amber Heard in a bikini...oh yeah...and some other stuff.
I have to give this movie a favorable review only because it delivered something it didn't promise and that took me by surprise. The Stepfather, as I'm sure you all know, is a remake (reboot?) of the 80's slasher series that set the tone for every darn Lifetime movie starring Valerie Bertinelli or Nancy McKeon. A desperate divorcée falls for a mysterious guy who, despite telegraphing to the audience how evil he secretly is, manages to fool his fiancée and her family into thinking that he's a swell guy....that is, until the body count starts. The plot isn't worth discussing. There's nothing here that we haven't seen before. What IS worth discussing is the director's obvious decision to exploit Amber Heard's lovely figure in one long never ending cheesecake sequence. You could make the argument that the ONLY reason this film was even made in the first place was to launch Amber into the stratosphere of blogworthy sex symbols (not unlike what Michael Bay managed to do with Megan Fox). You'll see Amber in her underwear lounging in bed, Amber in her itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini, gratuitous close-ups of her splendid anatomy, etc. This exploitation becomes so flagrant that it distracts from the story itself, which is probably a good thing. In a way the Stepfather 2009 comes off more like a 70's Drive-In flick; the kind teenagers would flock to in hopes of seeing a little skin. Maybe that was the point after all? I sure hope it was. The movie certainly doesn't deliver much else.

Police on Thursday found a missing 14-year-old Tennessee teen last seen 18 days earlier and charged her stepfather in connection with her disappearance.

Savannah Leigh Pruitt, of Madisonville, was in “good health” after her recovery in Wisconsin, Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones said at a news conference, reports Knoxville TV station WBIR .

“She is safe she is in custody, and that’s the best outcome for the situation,” he said, according to the outlet.

On the same day, her adoptive father, Randall Lee Pruitt, 41, was arrested and is being held without bond in the Monroe County Jail on a single criminal charge related to the case, reports another Knoxville TV station, WATE .

Authorities did not reveal what led the teen to Wisconsin, but said she was believed to have been “fleeing from a bad home situation.”

Police had been searching for the teen across four states after she was last seen at her home on the night of Jan. 13. Her mother, Christina Pruitt, told authorities she last spotted her daughter heading to bed between 11 and 11:30 p.m.

Hours later, between 5:15 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., the teen’s two cell phones pinged in the Corbin, Kentucky, area — nearly 140 miles from her hometown, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office detectives said at an earlier press conference.

Authorities previously said that they did not consider Savannah a runaway. Her bedroom window was found open and some of her sheets and articles of clothing were missing.

The family was newly arrived in Monroe County, having moved back to Madisonville in late December from Lawrenceville, Georgia, where they had lived for many years , local station WSB-TV Atlanta reported.

Last month Randall had joined Savannah’s mother in pleading for the teen’s safe return , according to WATE.

“It’s like having your soul ripped out of your body,” Randall said then. “You can’t think, you can’t eat, you can’t sleep, you can’t rest — life has just ceased for us since she left.”
