So last week I went on a hiking/camping trip with a group of friends and had probably the most horrible experience of my life. It was a perfect storm of bad luck, we were hiking in an open grassland area with no tree cover at all, 2hrs from the nearest toilet and I start to feel the beginning of an upset stomach. 30min later things were bad and I had absolutely no choice (i was on the verge of pooping my pants). I had to randomly take my pants/underwear off infront of 11 friends in an open field, squat down and have diarrhoea on the ground. I was horrified and on the verge of tears from humiliation. At first people were like what the hell, but then nobody said much. They just kind of turned their backs and gave me a few minutes to sort myself out. My friend also threw a roll of paper to me. I feel like I can never see these people again now. It was a horrible experience. My question is, if you saw someone do that would you feel sympathy or disgust? Obviously they are still my friends but now I feel like I'm going to always be "that person" Do you think they will get over it?
Wow that is uniquely shitty, and pardon the pun. I mean the thing here is I think it was wrong of you to randomaly take off your pants and underwear. I can kind of understand that announcing that your'e about to take a shit is an unpleasant and difficult thing, but frankly, I think you should be adult enough to be able to say to people 'hey look away, I'm about to shit right now, my stomach feels bad, I think I may be sick'. If you had just said that, I wouldn't feel bad for them at all, it would have been entirely your sympathy. But it's really messed up to just randomly take off your pants in a group of people to just shit in front of them because you feel ill without any warning. I'm not saying you can never interact with these people, there's something to be said by the idea that some people can't quite verbalize distress as well, but in the future you can't let this happen.
If they're real friends, yes. This will pass. The situation was obviously out of the ordinary. They should disregard this outlier if they really value you and your friendship. If they're fake friends, no. In that case, you're better off without them, and you're better off learning their true identity now than later.
nothing happens, I suppose, it's a camp, not a luxury hotel, unless there is some idiot who does not know that women do poop. I'm throwing myself a lot of farts, I admit it that simple and I throw farts in front of my friends on some occasions and sometimes they laugh but they are used to haha
If I had to take a shit in front of my friends like that, they would bully me for the rest of my life for it, but it would be okay. I don't know how your friend group is, but in my group of guys we make fun of each other all the time. We definitely wouldn't stop being friends for something like that, it's just another thing to joke about lol
Obviously it's not ideal and it is embarrassing but it's life and you're human and you shouldn't let it define you. The best way to deal with it is to treat it with humour. If it were me and my friends they'd probably make jokes about it for the next 20yrs but it would all be in good humour.
Not a big deal everyone poops. It's all good, you all will joke about it over drinks sometime soon.
