Why you show follow her: At only 19, Olivia Jade has already accumulated 1.8M subscribers on Youtube, where she showcases bubbly makeup tutorials and ‘slice-of-life’ videos of her daily routines. The Kaia Gerber doppelgänger shares her quirky style in ‘haul’ videos of clothing she’s picked up from from brands such as Zara, Lulus and Urban Outfitters. Her equally popular Insta is filled with trendy outfits from Princess Polly and Off-White, plus images of her living that #CaliforniaGirl lifestyle.

Why you should follow him: In 2016, the bleach blonde teen was discovered by a modelling agency via Instagram when he was only 14. Hailing from mixed Korean-Nigerian descent, he is breaking barriers as the first model of African descent to walk runways in South Korea. Despite being born and raised in South Korea, “People assume I’m a foreigner. I’ve gotten used to it,” he told Al-Jazeera . His unique looks have already earned him editorials in Allure South Korea and iWomanSense . We’re hoping his popularity lands him a spot crosses over to North America soon.

Why you should follow her: Brooks’ toned physique and lush eyebrows have spawned plenty of imitators, but none come close to her carefree je ne sais quoi. (She also happens to look like the love child of Hailey Bieber and Rosie Huntington-Whitely.) She began her ascent to internet stardom at the age of 12, posting drugstore makeup tutorials on Youtube where she has now amassed a whopping 311K subscribers. Her self-effacing videos attract comments like “SO FREAKIN EFFORTLESSLY BEAUTIFUL ?” and “your skin looks so flawless omg.” In 2017, she was reportedy spotted dining with Scott Disick in 2017, who actually dating ANOTHER teen, Sofia Richie. (Who is technically 20, but still, yikes.)
Why you should follow her: The Justin Bieber protégée began posting videos of herself singing covers of pop songs, such as Adele’s Someone Like You, on Youtube when she was only 12 years old. Less than a year later, Beer was officially ‘discovered’ when Bieber tweeted a link to her cover of Etta James’ At Last . Her sultry pop debut album, As She Pleases was released in early 2018 and her profile has only risen since then. So far, the Long Island-born beauty has a rabid social media following of 12 million and her latest music video Hurts Like Hell, featuring Cardi B’s baby daddy Offset already has 9.5 million views on Youtube.

Why you should follow her: The LA-based beauty is known for posting plenty of bikini shots, and has a waist so tiny we can’t help but wonder whenever it’s been FaceTuned. Why you should follow them: Ethan and Grayson Dolan, identical twins from New Jersey, are Vine pranksters-turned-successful Youtubers who upload hilarious videos of themselves pulling Logan Paul-inspired stunts. In 2016, they brought home three Teen Choice Awards for Choice Web Star: Male, Choice Youtuber and Choice Comedian. In 2018 ,the twins announced they would be taking a step back from Youtube to focus on other pursuits, but their fan base remains extremely loyal.

Why you should follow her: Maddie Ziegler’s first taste of fame was in Lifetime’s reality show Dance Moms, when she was only 8 years old. But she gained the majority of her followers after appearing in Sia’s music video, Chandelier. In addition to her mad dancing skills, she’s also stunning, modelling for prestigious outlets such as Teen Vogue , Harper’s Bazaar and Nylon. She’s also friends with Millie Bobby Brown . As if.

Kim Kardashian has a lot going on right now. The reality TV star turned pop culture icon is (let’s face it) the main character in Disney Plus’s The Kardashians . She’s the designer of SKIMS, the intimates and loungewear brand. She recently launched the beauty brand SKKN by Kim . She’s a mom of four kids, all under nine. AND she’s the girlfriend of Pete Davidson, which we can only imagine is a full-time job in and of itself. But the most recent addition to her resumé is runway model, thanks to Balenciaga’s Fall 2022 couture show.
Looking more like a red carpet than a runway, Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa, Selling Sunset’s Christine Quinn, Bella Hadid, and Naomi Campbell all took their turn on the catwalk at the historic Balenciaga salon in Paris, sporting fashionable finery. And while the group of celebs was very unexpected, it was very on-brand for Balenciaga.
Back in Spring 2022, creative director Demna Gvasalia created a literal red carpet for his ready-to-wear collection, complete with paparazzi, famous faces and a special screening of The Simpsons . But the cult status of the brand goes way beyond Springfield. It’s become a mainstay at press events, award shows and Met Galas , and its campaigns resemble a Vanity Fair “Hollywood” issue.
But, as with everything that Demna does, he always stays true to his vision. Celebrities don’t mould Balenciaga to fit their aesthetic; rather, Demna moulds celebrities to fit his. And the same is true of his approach to couture. When Balenciaga relaunched its couture collection last year after a 50-year drought, the creative director was careful to nod to its namesake while still making it his own.
This time around, Demna was more playful. The show started with an array of all-black bodysuits, which have now become a trademark for the brand, and slowly transitioned into surprisingly demure tweed gowns. Denim, latex, fur, feathers, sequins and a material resembling a metallic emergency blanket intermingled in a textural tour de force as more daring and voluminous shapes descended the catwalk. Men were included in the couture conversation and walked in waist-defining suiting. Then the last two dresses were perhaps the most referential to Balenciaga’s ladylike roots, but even they were taken to the extreme, with a skirt so full it had a hard time clearing the aisle of the runway.
And that’s what Balenciaga and Kim Kardashian do best — they make statements. Whether you love or hate them, we are all talking about them. It’s exciting not knowing what will come next, whether it’s a couture sweatsuit or another Kardashian scandal. All we can do is sit back and enjoy the ride.
