A notorious gangster nicknamed "Animal" must reconcile his past in order to make a future for his criminally-minded son.
When the violent gangster James "Animal" Allen is arrested and sent to prison, his teenage son Darius is left with his mother, but she is assassinated and the boy is raised alone on the streets, becoming a criminal. While in the corrupt prison, Animal works for the powerful prisoner Kassada, but when he meets the revolutionary Berwell, his view of life changes. When Animal (Ving Rhames) is approached in the prison yard and told to come and meet with Kassada (Chazz Palminteri) he tosses away the wadded paper in his mouth. The next cut shows him at the table with Kassada and it's back in his mouth.

Good story of a man trying to overcome his past boosted by excellent acting
This is the story of a man nick named Animal. Baddest of the bad, Animal was the head of a crew in ghetto neighborhood he lived in. One day he's arrested and sent to jail leaving behind a wife and child. While in jail for years he continues his violent ways, at the same time his son takes after his old man and becomes known as "Little Animal". With the help of a fellow prisoner Animal changes his way and is eventually paroled. Back at home he now must struggle with carving a out a new life while trying to figure out out how to save his son from ending up like him, or worse.

I stumbled upon this film by accident and I'm glad I did. Animal is a brutal, heartfelt look at life in the "hood", how nothing ever changes, and what it takes to change things. Its a well told story that has some of the best performances of the year in any film. Every one in this movie is excellent from Ving Rhames on down. The acting alone is reason enough to see this film, however there is a very real story being told. It will move you and break your heart.

Forgive me I finished the film not long ago and I still feel the effects of this wonderful movie.Its left me with a loss of words. I think all I can really say is see this film and be moved too.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Students and parents are in shock after a group of teenagers had sex in a high school bathroom in Fort Myers, Florida, and then posted a video of the act on social media.
A teenage girl had sex with as many as two dozen boys after school Tuesday afternoon at South Fort Myers High School, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
Deputies said 25 males were spotted via a hallway camera entering the restroom while the female was inside, the News-Press reported.
“A bunch of football players went into a room with a girl and had sex with her, and a bunch of the football players were suspended,” student Alex Bailey told WBBH. “So we might not have a football team this year.”
“The fact that that could’ve happened is just crazy in my mind,” another student said.
Parent Megan Roldan said the incident proves some parents need to be more aware of what their children are getting up to when school ends.
“And apparently, obviously the parents need to be talking to their kids more,” Roldan told WINK. “And being aware of what their children are doing after school.”
Even though the incident happened after hours, some students are wondering where the administration was when all of this was going on.
“I just don’t see how that could’ve happened because there is so much security in there,” student Erin Bollinger said. “Like the teachers are really on top of all of that.”
Students said the entire thing was filmed and then posted on social media.
“There’s girls that saw the video once and it hurt, it is just so disturbing to them,” student Casey Winn said.
Some parents question how this could have happened at the school.
“Well, they should be walking around the halls and things like that and know where the kids are,” Roldan said.
But others said they trust the school district to handle the situation
“I trust them to take care of it,” one woman said. “I really do think that that is their job and they will take care of it.”
The sheriff’s office said the girl’s mother is not planning to press charges.
A school district official said the students involved have been disciplined.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man pleaded guilty to attempted murder Thursday for stabbing another man more than 20 times during a fight in downtown San Diego earlier this year.
Pierce Tostado, 20, is slated to be sentenced next month to 10 years in state prison for stabbing Jordan Hardgrow in the chest and abdomen around 1:30 a.m. Jan. 16 in the 800 block of 11th Avenue. The attack left the victim hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, which included stab wounds to his heart and lungs, according to Deputy District Attorney Hailey Williams.
SAN DIEGO -- All active registered voters in California will automatically receive a mail ballot for Governor Gavin Newsom's recall election on Sept. 14.
San Diego County announced Thursday that ballots will be mailed out Aug. 16, giving voters about a month to mark their preference and return it for free by mail, no postage necessary.
